Don’t think anyone has suggested he is anything like Cafu. It’s only posters who don’t like him that seem to be making that comparison

Nothing against him but suggesting he’s better going forward than even Young or Coleman is a stretch for me.

Have said this for years. The lad seems to have a great attitude just lacking in match intelligence and basic fitness. Loan him out and see what he can do. Realistically though I can see a loan to buy deal with a Dundee Utd or St Mirren which is probably best for all parties to cut their losses.

….i have acknowledged a connection with Rangers and have seen first hand the respect Tavernier is held in as club captain, he’s been terrific for them. From a footballing perspective, though, Tavernier would struggle to hold down a starting place in the PL, there’s a reason why clubs south of the border have never been keen to sign him.

Saying that, I doubt Patterson would be a regular starter for Rangers if he was still there.

Don't most clubs in Scotland pay league 1 wages? Doubt a club like St Mirren could afford his salary.

If he was getting loaned I’d rather see him in a prem team.
Won’t happen though as we’re too precariously crap to risk improving the sort of team who might be interested.

He wouldn't get a game for a premier league team. Its very similar to the Holgate situation, he's a championship player at best earning big wages. He'll be here until his contract expires then he'll sign for Oxford United or another club around that level.

That's probably his level though. Decent lad though I'm sure he is - there's just something missing. Facts are we got fleeced by the whole Steven Gerrard/Rafael Benitez combination that brought him here.
