Here's two heatmaps. The left one is Aina who was at RB up against Mykolenko and the right one is Mykolenko. Arrows at the top indicate direction of attacking play.

Which one is getting forward there and which one is acting like a 'wide centre back'? Mykolenko is given full license to get forward but does absolutely nothing with it.

As for Patterson he definitely got forward more than Young but both of them got forward a lot more than the Forest player at LB they were up against. Not got Pattersons but here is Young (right) and Nico Williams (left) who he was up against on the flank.

That's not to defend Dyche to the hilt or anything like that as there are plenty of choices he makes which I don't agree with but some of the attacks on here about what he does or doesn't do are often based entirely on tropes rather than actual facts.

Worth mentioning that Morata at Forest is a left sided centre back who was used at Left back

At this point if we could sell for £5mil then its a deal that needs to be done -- simply for PSR and to build up funds for a new manager.

If not then he has to start. Its a travesty he wasnt used against Brentford or West Ham.

Never heard any Rangers fans happy with the fee for losing a player they mostly thought would be reaching the top level?

Patterson doesn't have the history because he hasn't got the same run in the team as the other two. That doesn't warrant a loan, it warrants a chance. Especially when we need something different

It’s just huge hypocrisy. What the poster is saying is that Myko, Young (last season was absolute diabolical from him but he has done very very well this season) and Coleman are allowed to be absolutely awful at times and make a litany of mistakes, yet retain their places just by being fit.

Patterson makes a mistake and gets benched for months and posters like the above absolutely go in on him for said mistake. Even if he doesn’t really do anything wrong like at the weekend, you still have a group of them trying to tear him apart.

I mean, I like Myko, and have defended him a lot, he is generally solid defensively, but has been poor this season after one all right season. He has never been top class for us though. And trying to make out he has been class is just a way of pushing the agenda against Patterson even more.

He's insinuating that you're somebody who is already a member of this forum and that you've signed up again under a new identity.

Don't take it personally, any discussion around Nathan Patterson is a very touchy subject here and the strange cult that is the Patterson Defence League will pluck things out of thin air to try to discredit anyone who doesn't think that Patterson is a wonderful player who has just been terribly misunderstood by every manager he's ever failed to nail down a starting spot under... which incidentally is all the managers he's ever played under.

You made very valid, well reasoned points so I would like to apologise for the hostile welcome you received and I hope it hasn't put you off contributing in future. The PDL are a very small faction and many of them don't venture out of this thread so don't take the treatment you received last night as a good example of how we conduct ourselves when we speak to fellow Evertonians on this forum.

The worst aspect of SevCo's win yesterday was the fact it seems they won't now be desperate to get Pattos in on an emergency loan. Shame for all parties as going back to Ibrux could have been a golden chance for the lad to rediscover his form and confidence.

It’s hard to progress when you dont get a chance - He looks good going forward when he’s played and yes he needs to learn more about the defensive side but that won’t happen without game time .. My thoughts are this lad has been badly mismanaged and I feel sorry for him ..
