2024/25 Nathan Patterson

He's been given 50 games Frank. 50.
Still at this nonsense eh ?

That's less than 9 games per year.
Littered with off the bench appearances and bad injuries.

But you already know this don't you .

39 hours or 50 games Bob. Whichever you want. That's one hell of a long time to show what you've got (on the back on being a full international and hailing from one of the biggest clubs in Scotland).
Who is this Bob fella Chaz ?

He's been plagued by bad injuries, played second fiddle to the club captain ( & rightly so ) until he's ready to slot in.
Then he's overlooked by a 40 year old bum boy of the manager.( who has done pretty well this season bar Sunday) that stunk the gaff out last season yet picked all the time.

So no he hasn't had a sustained chance to establish himself.

Consider for a moment, the why's and wherefores of Patterson's signing.

benitez fell out with Digne and off loaded him as quickly as he could, and brought in both Patterson and Mykolenko.

It is quite the feat that Patterson who has rarely played and cost a bit less* (acknowledged), has actually been the more positive of the two signings. Somehow.

We used to get struck down with bad luck with injuries like with Bolasie and Gbamin, but these two have been signed with the Digne money and been terrifying anti-success stories.

Everton = Madness.

One could & should be a success if given an injury free run and just a little faith from a dinosaur manager.

The other should be charged for impersonating a footballer , but picked every week by said dinosaur.

There is a difference.

I acknowledge there's more to my original point, but it was set up to magnify the ridiculousness of the situation and how it was allowed to come about.

I'm not so sure. I'll be the first to admit that Patterson looked bright when he came on against Forest, but at that point the game was done and dusted. I want the guy to be a success but I'm just not convinced he's up to this level. He's purely a hype signing. He'd hardly played for Rangers when we signed him and I remember Rangers fans having quite a laugh that we paid so much for an unproven player. Our recruitment has just been [Poor language removed] for a while now, if Dyche goes I hope they do a complete overhaul to the recruitment team as well. It's time for a fresh start

Mate - Myko has been top class for us. Pattos hasn't.

Maybe he needs another 50 games to give it a go?
Myko has been both class and terrible for us
He has had the opportunities to play regardless

No way has Patterson been given a good run, partly injury, partly the manager
Young has been very good for us this season but there were times he was so bad people wanted to punt him into space. He was still getting the starts

I'm not disputing Myko has been very bad at times. I didn't say otherwise. He and especially both Young and Seamus have a pedigree and a history of top class performances (for us and other. Pattos hasn't. All he has is potential that's the difference for me. Undoubtedly a lovely lad and here's hoping he takes the opportunity to knuckle down in training and maybe gets a loan move to a lower league club to find a level he can handle athetically and go from there

I disagree. Myko has a bit to go to be comparable with Coleman's history and Young has a history of very mixed performances
Patterson doesn't have the history because he hasn't got the same run in the team as the other two. That doesn't warrant a loan, it warrants a chance. Especially when we need something different
