2024/25 Nathan Patterson

Something amiss. If he's not getting near a starting eleven under either Dyche or Moyes then put him in the shop window.
Nothing suspicious for me. Moyes went conservative. Same shape but told them to consider moving forward a bit. Experience of Young, hard work of Harrison and the faint memory of a former goalscorer in Dom. Probably hoping for a bit of bounce and Goodison magic. Gritty result and some feel good factor to return.

Caretaker managers can go bonkers. Can understand the lineup tonight. But if he really wants goals, and we’ve tried all possible combo of strikers wingers and 10’s, then a more forward think full back will have to be tried at some point to shake it up.

Think Patterson would be best suited to Moyes play but think Moyes may be a bit disappointed in his defending. Need a CB or midfielder to cover the void Patterson will leave behind (as they should)

Remember Moyes played Leacott at left back and didn’t play Baines until injury forced his hand and we all know what happened.

Same with Coleman, amazing season at Blackpool, looked great going forward. Came back to Everton and Moyes had a way past it Phil Neville keeping him out the team, only played him right mid until Neville got injured and again his hand was forced.

He’s a manager who finds attcking options that work by chance when the circumstances are forced on him. It’s never been his default, which is cautious.
