He's just been sent back to Villa from his loan at West Brom, sparsely used by young, continental progressive coach Carlos Corberan. Maybe, just maybe, Dyche is actually a better judge of a young player than we are and he's as right about Patterson as he was about Dobbin.

This is why Dyche has to go, as Patterson did more when he came on last week than Young who is just a red card waiting to happen

You realise of course that players can perform differently in different teams at different levels?

Dobbin may have kicked on 2 levels if he hadnt been sold. No way of knowing.

Can someone explain the vitriol for Patterson? (And not just ‘oh he’s rubbish’ because that doesn’t explain the campaign). The hatred goes to levels far beyond normal, especially for someone who doesn’t get a game.

Is it sectarianism because he played for rangers? Did Naismith and Jelavic get that hate, I wasn’t around back then?

He’s a player who hardly has a game, ever… when he’s come on he’s played well. It’s not like he’s schneiderlin. If you want vitriol, look at any of Daveks posts. “Not making the grade” doesn’t explain the savage hatred

At the minute I’d have him in ahead of Mykolenko and move Young over to play left back.
