We'll have received nowhere near the help that Tory Ratcliffe will get.

WHU also literally pay off their annual rent after just 2 homes games. The taxpayers even pay for the stewards at the ground.
Ratcliffe is 1 of the biggest Tory Party donors, it doesnt take a genius to follow the money.

Think it was Joe Anderson who offered help on the councils behalf... without having discussed it at council ??
Probably, the slimy toad, but regardless, we could and should have asked for more help.

It's happened to me before in the away end

It almost led to a fight as the lad a few rows in front of me wouldn't sit down because his seat was soaked (understandable to be honest) and the people directly behind him started arguing

Ridiculous they've allowed it to get to that point

So the proposal is that Public money should be utilised to fund a redevelopment of OT, home of one of the Worlds richest clubs because it would regenerate that side of Manchester and, in the meantime, they spend potentially £billions strengthening their position on the field.

Whereas we.....

It's both laughable and disgraceful at the same time and if it was to happen ie. opening the Public purse to help an already rich club and their owners even richer in the longer term then the sooner the Revolution begins the better.

Businesses should be accountable for their own housekeeping in the same way we have been.

I would be furious if they got public funding, given that it's not the best way to fund stadium construction - which, let's face it, only benefits a limited number of people.

There was some criticism when we were looking at receiving public funding from the City Council and we didn't go down that avenue. Yet, we could've done, using the same reasons Man Utd are trying to use.

Yes, there are community benefits but that can be said about most top flight stadium builds nowadays. The point I'm trying to stress is that other clubs have the potential to provide these benefits with their stadium build, but they haven't sought public funding.
