They didn't even contact any other teams! They could have also asked for Reaves and another pick and still be well under value and Pelinka still would have said yes. I just can't see anything besides Nico Harrison is very, very bad at his job. He's Steve Walsh being trusted to sell Rooney levels of bad.
That he's a bit suspect with his conditioning and clearly we can't be having a player with the body of a gummy bear like this! They'd never amount to anything!!!
Oh also he's not a top% defender, BIN HIM! Yeah he willed us to the playoffs (and Finals), but he's not even All-defense!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I see the "maybe he's permacrocked" argument and could be another Kawhi, but even Kawhi was boss when load managed.
What still hurts is getting next to nothing for what is close to a 30/10/10 Franchise player.

The Mavs did very poorly in this deal, very strange trade on their part.

I know the NBA hates the whole team sport thing and it’s all about the individual but you might be a better team. AD takes the absolute piss out of the Wolves whenever we play him too so I really rate him (Luka also did)

It's not the team thing here though, we've let go a generational talent for someone who is also injured and kinda mid when it matters, just because AD can play defense better. Oh we also let Maxi go with him, so we lose on some perimeter defending anyway, and we lost them to a literal rival
And we also get very much nothing back.Apparently Nico wants go for the Cavs approach, but this still makes no sense as we have no statistically great young core as we sent the superstar away, while denying him a supermax and telling him he's fat along the way too. Absolutely rotten how he dropped in the fact he's buddies with Pelinka in there too and that's how the talks began, as apparently the Mavs will be in "win for the foreseeable but also win now" mode.
Or maybe I'm just rattled by the ineptitude of the trade and the fact Luka now plays for the Lakers and will be very pleasantly surprised when we win the Championship next year while being the best defending team in the league due to having AD.
We lost by ~50 last night by the way.

This Mavs implosion... I don't think I can remember anything like this. Kicking people out of games for saying "Fire Nico?" Wait until that doughboy Dumont gets his comeuppance.
