That Wemby is... well he can do things nobody else can do.
It's been a long time since a Rookie was MVP.. it's only happened twice.. Wilt Chamberlain and Wes Unseld.. if Wemby puts up regular 30+point games and keeps up the rebounds he'll be in the conversation.

I can see him getting both MVP and DPOY votes but the season is too long and hard for him to make a good run at the actual MVP. But they have an exciting core with him and Sochan and few other decent players. What they need are some old heads to lead the kids--the perfect scenario might be GSW's season going off the rails and trading for Chris Paul and Draymond. That's not enough to take them anywhere this year, but that could be a good team next year, although I think they still need 1 more dangerous scorer.

After starting to watch the NBA again at the play off stages last season, I was recording them on sky sports and watched them the next day without knowing the results. So now Tnt are showing the games instead. The gobshites are putting the end off the games and are on the beginning of the next program. Just sat through the maverick spurs game and the recording stops with the last 4 minutes of the game missing ffs.

That used to happen on premiere sports when they showed NASCAR I used to record the next program too incase of this...

Yeah went through TV guide earlier and did that.
Dunno what provider you are with, but on my Virgin box you can set your recordings to continue for a set number of minutes before and after a shows broadcast times.

Also: Nicola Jokic...

Also: Nicola Jokic...

yes, the obvious point as well. if Jokic wants it again it's his. with his talent and relatively young age, he's not going to be usurped by a 19/20 year old. I don't see Embiid winning again this year, maybe ever. I'd guess his contenders are Luka, Tatum, and Giannis, but maybe that's it.

this made me wonder who was the youngest NBA MVP, so here is what I found:

22 yo: Derrick Rose, Wes Unseld
23 yo: Wilt, Kareem, Bill Russell, Moses Malone, Bob McAdoo, Bob Petit
24 yo: LeBron, Mike, Dave Cowens

I don't know much about McAdoo, Petit, or Cowens. I've heard people talk about Unseld and Moses so I know they were monsters on the court. Derrick Rose was an unstoppable force at PG before his injury, so his career is light compared to the rest. Then of course Wilt, Kareem, LeBron, and Mike are all who they are.

So we'll see Wemby's name pop up in the conversation over the next 4 years no doubt, if we're lucky enough to experience something amazing from this kid. Bonne chance, Victor!

Surprised Magic isn’t on that list. Thought he won one early on…maybe it was an NBA Finals MVP I’m thinking of?

Gannis, Embiid, Doncic and Tatum to name a few.
There's plenty in his way.. even being in the conversation as a rookie would be an achievement.
