Mets and Jets both played in Queens at one point (Mets still do), so that explains why they are more popular on LI, for example. Also, even after they left for Jersey, the Jets had their training camp on LI at Hofstra for years. Giants had theirs in Albany for some time.
Mets/Jets and Yankees/Giants are the most common combos. That being said, I know quite a few Mets/Giants fans (both from NY and NJ) whereas I don’t think I’ve ever met a Jets/Yankees fan.
I’m not sure if it’s true but Yankees and Mets has always seemed closer to 50/50 whereas I think there are way more Giants fans than Jets fans

I agree with your point on the Lakers, especially as a Lakers fan. Totally see it.

Clippers fans are just obnoxious now. I used to feel bad for them. Not sure how they qualify as glory hunters since they've never won. The new fans suck, but I respect the Clippers fans who go back 20+ years. It was really rough for them pre-Ballmer.

Which football? Real football, can't comment as I've never had the privilege of going to a quality game in a good atmosphere.

NFL? It is tons better if you go to the right games, especially if you have good tickets. I've been to a lot of NFL games, sat front row to the last row. All over. They're great. Especially in Buffalo.

I've gone to NBA games in Toronto and college games in Syracuse. If you have remotely decent seats you're right there and it is absolutely the best sporting events I've gone to.

Hoping to change my football experiences soon after this covid crap is done with. Finally financially stable enough where I can go on a trip to just see some games in Europe.
 

Funny how the Pelicans are so much better if they even pretend to play defense. Talent will prevail with the right coach and they needed a disciplinarian so badly.

I think most Clippers “fans” have joined up in the last three years to be honest. Their percentage of hangers-on and glory hunters are even higher than the Lakers right now. It’s not like a Merseyside thing where the RS are the glory hunter team and Everton are the local team. Very few people genuinely care about the Clippers, they’re just convenient right now if you don’t like the Lakers.

I agree with this. They were all coming out of the woods the last couple years, especially last year.

I could never root for a team with playoff pee on it.
