They've sort of done that too. It isn't exactly flat but it has helped.

I mean this season the only real tanking was Portland once Dame was officially out, OKC and arguably Houston. Orlando and Detroit are just young and bad but they played hard and put the best guys out. They just weren't very good. I'd argue Houston is more in that category too.
Not really. The odds of getting a top 3 pick are significantly greater for the worst performing teams. Philly lost on purpose for years. It’s a stupid system, as is the way the draft is set up in the NFL. Tanking for draft picks is a problem in the major American sports.

They've flattened out and it has fixed it some though.

As I said there really wasn't much tanking this year. OKC did it again. Portland did once it was clear Lilliard was done. That's kind of it. I'll take that over baseball where the O's are about to lose 110 again and have a total payroll of less than single players. The NBA did well with it.

Until the incentive to lose is gone, there will always be teams that take advantage of the system. Really I’d be ok if they just did away with the draft and let players sign where they wanted. Big market teams of course have an advantage then but with the cap in place it’s not a big one.

See it's hard, because I'm a fan of giving poop teams a great prospect, so as not to stockpile at the biggest teams.

However, I don't like that as soon as someone is out of play-off contention they can just snooze, lose and then be rewarded with said prospect.

It's impossible to fix though IMO.

I'm cool with that but I doubt it happens.

I can understand being concerned with the incentive to lose 5 years ago but it seems to be going away for the most part.

In a hopeful sign despite their best efforts NBA Everton held off a bunch of journeymen and castoffs to not get relegated.

I have questions, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to hear the answers.
