Confirmed Signing Neal Maupay

Tofeenut will get his information either when a player has his medical, or possibly when he's booked in for a medical.
It's possible a medical may have been booked for today, although the certainty of his post makes me think the medical was done when he posted yesterday.
I think he did the part of the medical in the clinic yesterday Kev. It's part two at Finch Farm this morning. If he comes through that successfully, he has a bush tucker trial this afternoon ??

Slightly misleading (Stats eh?) as Maupay has played much more minutes.

Going off this Lacina Traore would probably be our best ever striker.

Lacina Traore made 1 appearance in the Premier League. Tosun and Niasse have 50-60+ appearances across a number of seasons.

I hope Maupay contributes more than Tosun and Niasse in hard work and general play, but in terms of goals, 3 seasons of data suggests he won't reach 10 goals a season and will be about as prolific as they were. If at 26 he is not good enough to start for Brighton, it is a concern we are targeting him.

Let's sign a striker that's famous for not scoring goals
This is a bit of a false narrative.

He does score goals, always has. Scored a fair few in the Championship and is always a lock to score 8-12 goals in the premier league. Hardly W.R. Dean but he DOES score goals.

His issue is that he misses some chances which is not quite the same thing. So he gets chances, scores some and misses some. Its better than doing, well, nothing, like we do currently...

He does, but it's a bit underwhelming isn't it? If you're spending £15-20m on a striker to improve on Rondon, Maupay shouldn't be in the conversation.

He is pretty much a lock to score 10 in a season. It's what he does.

He is good enough to start for Brighton. He was starting for them until this season.

Not everybody is going to be a superstar.

It is not a concern to me at all.

Brighton actually create, and he's known to miss sitters and not score with their fans

His actually scoring record is very similar to Rondon but at Brighton.

Very difficult to be overjoyed with this. I guess I'll just have to keep telling myself he's an " intelligent player " rather than a goal scorer.
