….if anybody wants an image of what he’s like then watch the Coleman goal.

Our full back gets beyond their back four & we don’t have a single player in the box. Look outside the box & Maupay is not busting a gut to get in, he’s labouring, he can’t make ground on Coleman.

I’ve said it whilst the lad was at Sunderland. Simms is not the answer but he’s 100% the best we have behind DCL. He has a presence, can occupy the CBs and is most definitely a goal thread. He scores spawney goals, I actually think he’d have got on the end of two McNeil crosses.

First thing I noticed.

Shambolic, they’re at least 15 yards behind a 34 year old who runs through treacle.

You'd think he's done enough to get a start against Villa if DCL is still out.

I’m not sure about Simms being better. They are totally different players. Maupay isn’t a goal scoring striker, but what he does do is close and down doesn’t give the back four a minutes peace. Personally I would like to see them together, but with the limits of current team I can’t imagine Dyce going 4-4-2

More than this, look at maupay whenever the ball is delivered into the box. Absolutely did nothing, not attacking the space not anticipating the ball and not even making an effort to reach for the ball.

This useless [Poor language removed] just stand still over and over again expecting the ball to be delivered to him perfectly. Half arse useless player.

…I thought he did enough to start today, Matey, although sitting on the bench might have just got him hungry to get involved. It’s more about how poor Maupay is.

Definitely starts next week, I’d be surprised if Dyche doesn’t make that call.

Hopefully Dyche is working on him using his physicality in his all round play. Unfortunately chances won't get laid on a plate for him and its something he has to improve on (his all round game) but that was certainly a positive today.

Being generous, he did a job. He doesn’t want to get on the end of crosses. He wants the ball to hit someone else then he can pick up scraps. Bit optimistic when you are the lone striker. He is being used in a role that is so not suited to him.

Could still be vaguely useful, somehow.

I thought he was decent enough today. He was a nuisance and the ball stuck most of the time when it was played up to him. Some good lay-off passes too. I was happy enough with him. Simms did well when coming on too. I’ve seen Dominic Calvert-Lewin play a lot worse than what those two did today.
This. He is very limited as a player but he was a nuisance up there.

I’d rather simms comes off the bench and he starts atm.
