Rondon would at least make a nuisance of himself and show a bit of effort, maupay is one if not the worst striker to play for us, he runs around like mini me in an Everton kit.

Maupay has been a bit of a dud really so far this season. Think the board just saw a premier league goalscorer available and thought it would be a likely win. We need to move past these types of signings if we are to improve going forward

Didn’t actually think he was too bad. Summed it up for me when he was persistently picking the ball up in our defensive 3rd.
We don’t play to his strengths (which Tbf aren’t particularly strong anyway) so I’m not especially surprised he’s not had a sniff. He at least made a nuisance of himself as a WUM around their players when there was a free kick etc.
Not sure who would have done better in his place Tbf. Certainly missed less chances than ️boi

Thing is we haven't got anybody to play up top alongside him and when the options out wide do get the ball they run down blind alleys, or try and play the pass that's too tight inevitably losing the ball, they dont have much to aim for when they throw a cross in maupay isn't 6ft and isnt scoring many headers,

I for one are willing to take that chance, and to think he gets a chance to start in front of Cannon, squad player at best for a lower grade team possibly 3rd division. WTF are we letting this waste of space in the team?.

He was clearly a complete panic buy.

There is no way we went into the window planning to replace Richarlison with Maupay. We were a complete shambles and unprepared for selling Richarlison, then we panicked when time was running out.

I was moderately happy with the transfer because i thought he'd be serviceable. Turns out the player everyone said "Brighton would be much better if Maupay could convert" might not be the answer.
