For me the away end yesterday was flat and defeated before a ball kicked.

I agree there was a resigned air amongst the fans which meant there was little audible support but the abuse and screaming where I was situated was really bad . I don’t think it was isolated to where I was standing as my mates who were sitting in different specs said pretty much the same.

The manager used similar words for his own team yesterday.

In which case, it’s unsurprising the fans were a bit flat.

A group of players, none of whom the fans really identify with. A manager that the fans are, at best, ambivalent to. And an ownership that the fans actively dislike.

We’ve lifted the team out of the mud for successive seasons, the fans can’t keep going to the well. The players have to do their bit, too.

We got off at 60 mins to get back to Euston.

I managed 85 minutes but I now live in London so journey home not so long or maybe I’m just a sucker for punishment.
