Around 86/87 the best youngsters around, were Gascoinge, waddle, Beardsley, Barnes. Incredible we weren’t in fir any of them at the time.

Crazy when u think back. We were the Champions FFS. Failure to capitalise on this was the beginning of our decline that and the RS getting us banned from Europe.

We ended up buying the likes of Wilson, McCall, Nevin last two did ok for us. But we really should have pushed the boat out. It’s lije the board thought the mid 80’s team would go on forever.

I have been watching Everton since the 60s and Big Nev is the greatest player I have seen, and the competition for such an accolade is obviously immense.
At his peak he was undoubtedly the best goalie in the world.
He won us the cup in 95 with an outstanding performance.
He’s a true Evertonian , a Legend and a top bloke as well.

My memory aint that great, but after the Europe ban, didnt a fair few of the players move on? Howard certainly did, but Stevens and Sheedy to Rangers as well? Or has the snow frozen me.
