RM definitely inherited a hugely talented side in Belgium. Can't deny that. But we've seen plenty of times where national teams with lots of talent just don't mesh at a high level, and that's up to the manager.

Agree with you though that he needs to prove it at the club level. I just believe in him enough to let him do that here, assuming this Iranian has the dough he says he has and Martinez can actually bring in some decent players for his style. That's a huge "if" though.

Yeah it went badly wrong but the stuff about it being Moyes team is not true at all. The first season was all on him as much as the following two seasons were.

To be fair Martinez was a pretty young manager when he was here. He was/is at an age where he is learning all the time, managers can improve just like players.

I wouldn't have him back though purely because he wouldn't get a proper chance.

David Moyes signed Stones and Chelsea gave him Lukaku after he phoned up about someone else.

As soon as he started tinkering with Moyes foundations we fell off a cliff. Was like the bloke who had a good season with O’Neill’s Leicester, before making a mess of it.

I am more than aware of that. He brought them into the team. Stones had never played for us, Barkley was languishing on loan in the Championship. They were not "Moyes team".

Del was a hit that season.

Has he proved it at international level. Failed miserably at the World Cup with the best team.

I want people to have an opinion about their club but I feel its goes beyond with blues, beyond to the point where if they don't get what they want everything else is a disaster and the club are personally attacking them

This was an eye opener!

One thing us blues have had is our togetherness, our stubbornness our ability to give as good as we get but I feel this has eroded of late we're probably the most polarised fans in the country.

Spot on everyone is entitled to a opinion, but eh he wasnt my first choice but will get right behind him if he gets the job

Absolutely...we shouldn't. I feel our lack success now though is manifesting itself into blues turning on blues...even me on here, I get caught up in it.

Its got to a point now where a new manager has been appointed an blues are attacking other blues over who they wanted just to be proven right and are waiting for him to fail?! How is this productive?

Its become game of who's right and who's wrong instead of accepting the decision getting behind it.

Instead were slagging Moshiri, Brands Kenwright... Other blues... Its getting us nowhere.

I feel like some people are missing the point here. It doesn't matter if he signed Stones or not, he never played for Moyes and therefore was not building on Moyes team. Moyes probably wouldn't have even looked at him that season.

We fell off a cliff because he chose Moyes keeper over his own (better) keeper, the "boss" defence was all getting old (Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin), Osman was also getting old and we had zero usable strikers apart from Lukaku as Moyes left him with none and the player he did bring in to fill in broke his leg.

It's not a case of either or anyway, it's just a case of not letting this utter myth of us having a good season was due to Moyes' team. It really was not, it was a totally different team. It needs knocking on the head.

His signings were comfortably more misses than hits though. I mean Robles, Alcaraz, Kone, Besic, Niasse, McGeady, Rodriguez.. He inherited a side that finished 6th, added Lukaku (by pure chance btw) and finished 5th.

Mate this could be the most unglamorous of appointments but the one we needed... We just don't know.

I'd like for once for us to just let a mangers contract run for a couple of years just to seen... Then we'd all actually know. Instead of us constantly talking hypothetically.
