Let's take a step back and think logically.

Firstly who is avaliable and a realistic target?

-Galtier. Looks to already be on way to Nice.
-Moyes. Agreed West ham deal. His return frought with controversy anyway.
-Benitez. Controversial and fanbase splitting.
-Poch. Very difficult to do and still in a new job at PSG.
-Howe. Not good enough and no real substance. Viable option.
-Potter. In a job and would likely split fanbase. However a viable option.
-Fonseca. Avaliable. Never managed in England but an option. On way to spurs tho.
-Rangnick. In a job. Been a DOF for much of career. Difficult to prise.
-Martinez. Controversial. In a job in middle of tournament.
-Nuno. Avaliable. Managed in league. Would have been seen as a coup 12 months ago. Viable.

Your then left with managers either in jobs such as Dyche who would jump at the chance or managers such as Rodgers who are not viable.

Then it's dregs such as Bilic, Hughes etc.

There are obviously other managers out there but I can't name any who is likely to fit the bill. I don't think there is a single appointment which everyone woukd agree on that is realistic or viable.

If we had got Nuno after Silva we would have been ecstatic. He's had a torrid 12 months at Wolves with injures, covid, family issues and a unsettled season. His time looked naturally coming to an end and that it's likely he took them as far as he can go with them. Which was the championship to a solid Premier league team, taken some big scalps home and away, reached Europe twice and got far.

I think logically he is the most sound appointment when you consider availability

If Big Marcel gets him some ballers and he can motivate the players he might surprise people.

I will back the fella, if he earns it with results.
If Nuno signs...we back him 100%.

you ‘know’ it’s worthless? Not an iota of doubt? That it’s utterly meaningless.

So what is your reason for watching Everton? It can’t be the scintillating football. It can’t be the glory hunting. It can’t even be the reasonable expectation of success.

Blackburn did have weird chicken owners.

but of the original 12 members of the Football League, what have any of them done? They weren’t all owned by weird chicken farmers.

One of them decided to get rid of their manager recently. A manager we apparently think is good enough. Although good enough for what is the question.

Honestly, you don't get what I am saying here. A motto means nothing for any club at all, or any company. A very loosely adhered to principle that they will role out when needed. We not alone in this.

I don't "watch" Everton. I support Everton. I would support them if they were in the conference or whatever because it's my team. I don't support them because of a motto!

I hate football manager talk. People can not seem to get their head around the fact that all scenarios at clubs are different. Carlo was good enough because he has managed clubs to loads of success, clubs that have no real correlation to where we are at the time. We will not know if he is good enough or not (if he even signs) until he manages us.

I will add some balance to that.
Nuno isn’t overly fond of young players. They have to prove they’re up to the concentration and workload demands for a long time in training before being willing to give them a chance.
Only reason we had so many youth minutes were Neto’s outstanding form, Jonny’s injuries meaning Rayan Ait-Nouri was 1st choice LB at 19, and Fabio Silva thrown in after Raul’s injury.

They really weren’t in there purely by choice, mostly necessity.
When our defence was shocking, he barely played Kilman when he wouldn’t have been any worse.
Owen Otasowie has all the physical attributes our MF was woefully lacking, but he gave the ball away stupidly against Citeh to gift them a goal, he never appeared again.

So yeah, he’ll play youngsters if forced to, or they’re truly exceptional, but don’t bank on it.
They do generally seem to come on well via his staff’s tutelage though.
Wouldn't even play Morgan Gibbs-White who looks very talented.
Does he have too much flair to play for Santa?

I support the team not the manager or the players. They are functionaries who may or may not earn my respect depending upon how well they serve the team I support.
And like all functionaries if they fail to function , they can function right off.
But there is no team without the players?

Wouldn't even play Morgan Gibbs-White who looks very talented.

In fairness, MGW hasn’t done a lot in the past to suggest he could demand more opportunities, and rarely anything like his best position to play in.
He’s a pure number 10, and don’t think Nuno ever trusted him to be defensively sound enough to play in the 2 man midfield.

Apart from everything else, I really need a break from Everton. Every Summer there's some uncertainty, or something unsettled,
From Barkley to Lukaku, to the replacements for Martinez, Allardyce and the future of our best players, it's just so tiring now. Every Summer is the same. This time, I got super optimistic again, very positive and very hopeful, and I really thought Ancelotti will stay until BMD, and we'd really be consistent, and excellent again. Now I will no longer be surprised by anything. I mean that. If BMD does not go ahead, if we end up with Allardyce as manager again, or if we appoint Gerrard or Lampard or Gus Hiddink, or Luis Van Gaal or coax Roy Hodgson out of retirement, it will just be (Moshiri's Everton, That!'
