I'll do whatever any fan will do: judge him on his football and results.

Dave I have nothing but respect for you as a poster here on these forums. However, surely you have to admit that In his last two seasons at Everton, Martinez massively underachieved. He had a world class striker up front in Lukaku and some great young talents around him and only finished 11th twice. I would argue that in them seasons he had a better team than we have had in any season since.

His downfall was his delusion to play one way in my opinion. Would you agree that he overfocused on one or two areas of management but negated the others? If you disagree then I would really love to hear your argument pro Martinez.

The reason is because I was considering if he was worth bringing back but just cannot overlook his defensive frailties.

The main reason i dont want him is because i think he's a dour negative manager. I dont particularly like him because of the links but id forget that if i thought he'd be good for Everton. I dont actualy think he brings much to the appointment.

He has won the Spanish title twice and the champions league and Europa league. At Newcastle he was negative manager, due to squad he had. When he won the championship with Newcastle he was not negative. He will have money with us to spend and he will buy better quality players. He is very organised as a manager.
