Sadly though Dave I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this story was leaked by the club to make us all be pro-Nuno instead.

A bit tinfoil hat I know but honestly would not be surprised one bit.
There is nothing tinfoil about it, look at the way the story developed. Nuno was the favourite from the very start by the club, names of Moyes and a few others was kind of thrown in without really much development on those.

The interesting thing was that this year, when false sound was added to matches, Goodison sounded not quite right, getting applauded off after home defeat seemed not quite right although the stands were deserted as has happened before (excepting of course a large minority of the devoted who understand what it is to support a team)

Whats a large minority?

Tbh i wouldn't really know what it sounds like on TV pre lockdown. I do know though that goodison has always been a ground that has let the team know if they've disappointed.

Its also always been a ground that will give the players a standing ovation regardless of the result If they've given 100%.

As a fan base we're fairly easy to endear yourself to, all you have to do is give 100% effort on the pitch. That is all we ever ask from our players. Strac was one of tye worst players I've ever seen but he managed a sort of cult hero status at everton because he literally wouldn't stop once he was on the pitch.

Theyre just putting his name out there becauss of the Nuno backlash.

Its going to be Nuno i think...

Either way its pathetic.

Not sure I get that Z-man. The Nuno stuff was that he was dull and uninspiring. You hardly need to threaten the fanbase with Benitez over that. I think it might just be who Moshiri wants to hire.

Dear me. I personally wouldn't want to have prejudice against any manager but this could very well diminish Moshiri's stock within our fan base if Benitez decision goes south.

Benitez is either brimming with confidence that he can give what Everton need or he has conned our naïve board into believing so.

I'd accept Benitez only if its Brands' call. But we'll never get that answer clearly would we? Bigger than managing Everton, Benitez would have to convince our vast majority of fan base why he is the right man.

If Moshiri has appointed Benitez then:

1. Why give Brands a new contract? Is he a 'yes man' puppet? If Brands has any dignity or self confidence, as soon as he finds a more supporting club, he should resign.
2. We may see 'Fat Waiter Out' banners within a year, with Moshiri taking much of the blame.

All said, if it is Benitez, then I'll keep my reservations on the side for now and hope that within a year we see a bit of improvement in squad and tactical decisions in key games. If he starts off by tossing Gomes, Delph and Iwobi out, I'd be pleased.

Dearly hope so but why would all the major outlets claim it's done... Urgh I feel sick even thinking about Rafael as our manager..

They claimed Nuno was done last week.

Not sure I get that Z-man. The Nuno stuff was that he was dull and uninspiring. You hardly need to threaten the fanbase with Benitez over that. I think it might just be who Moshiri wants to hire.

Cant see it. Moshiri comes across as someone who wants to be loved...its a massive gamble by an accountant.

He will have seen the response to Nuno and dragged it out to make Nuno seem a better option.

My guess is its Nuno or Ferguson.

Hopefully Ferguson.
