Think Brands himself could do a job in the hot seat? semi-serious question.

Like I said previously Benitez is not the man for the job. For obvious reasons.

But he won those trophies. In the same way Tuchel deserves credit for CL this season, or Hansi Flick deserved credit for taking over a very talented Bayern team mid-season and winning a treble.

I also don’t get the style of football argument. He’s a pragmatic manager who sets up his team to have a strong defensive shape. It’s that approach that brought him success and at times in his career has meant he could build teams that were greater than the sum of their parts.

Rafael Benitez ticks a number of boxes for what is required in the new manager. Don’t agree with the mental gymnastics to down play this. He’s still not the right man for the job because he won’t get backing from the fans. Not just that it’ll be a divisive and counter productive appointment.

It hasnt worked everywhere. Inter & real madrid in particular. He was voted the most unpopular madrid manager.
Newcastle was horses for courses. He just made them hard to beat. Which is fair enough. But they sent everyone to sleep.
It isnt just about his liverpool links. He's had success at two clubs. And not done well at others.
Im leaving chelsea out of it. 6 months isnt long enough.
He's not a shoeing to do well here just from his management.

I can only speak for myself mate, but I will! I am desperate for us to win stuff but if it done with crap footy, dodgy decisions or, in this case, with a guy I detest as manager it will completely spoil the experience. Others may well have a different view, of course!
Presumably you hated the dogs of war inspired FA cup win in 1995 then mate.

And that time we kicked Bayern off the park on 1985....
