Farhad Moshiri has already spoken to Jorge Mendes about the possibility of Nuno Espirito Santo taking over at Everton, Football Insider understands.

The billionaire Goodison owner is spearheading the club’s search for their sixth permanent manager in five years following Carlo Ancelotti’s exit on Tuesday.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Moshiri get on well with super-agent Mendes and they have already discussed Nuno’s interest in the newly-vacant role.

The 47-year-old is keen to get back into management after his four-year reign at Wolves ended nine days ago.

Mendes is keen for the Portugese to join an ambitious club with huge financial resources, and big spending Everton could fit the bill.

Jorge Mendes also represents Jose Mourinho....

I just look at the hiring of Carlo as sign to the rest of the league that we were making a seismic shift from the way we had been doing things for far too long. And though it is understandable that they might be hesitant to take such a big swing again; not doing so seems like capitulation. With the prospect of a new ground in the not so distant future, I'm not sure that we can risk some of these unproven types. Landing Carlo was a coup at the time and the future looked bright. But Carlo just nailed us right in the ass and didn't even bother to kiss us first. I fear that if we get this next appointment wrong, we are right and truly fooked.
Couldn’t agree more. This is a massive moment for the club. Get this wrong and the new stadium could be the best the championship has ever seen.

No,no Esposito.

For all the plaudits Wolves have got since they came up, they’ve looked dreadful whenever I’ve seen them, finished 13th this season and had arguably a better or at least more cohesive squad than ours.

I guess Espiritu for me

though he will field the team with Portuguese players lol

Was that Nuno? Or was that Mendes?

Nuno's Record

Sacked by Valencia
Sacked by Porto
Mutual Consent by Wolves

It's easy to mask what Nuno did for Wolves, with the EL QF etc... but he got out the Championship on a budget, which was bigger than half the premier league teams, and had players like Neves (Champions League quality) tearing it up against Rotherham, just think he's a bang average, run of the mill manager.

Fundamentally....whoever we get in needs his full term of 3 years at least.

And that's regardless of where we end up each season, he doesn't get sacked. If we're in a relegation fight, we get in one. If we're mid table that's where we are.

As long as there's a structure and a plan, be it bringing and developing youth or giving hungry players a chance, playing a certain way win lose or draw.

We need that cos at the moment we have no foundations and no idea.

Would be brilliant. Can spot a player and plays the football we like, high energy, high tempo, pressing and attacking

He won't get that out of this squad. That's the issue

He maybe be the best manager we've ever had...he won't be getting a high tempo attractive football out of this team.

Get Rafael in. Couldn’t care less who he’s managed before. Grew up watching Kevin Sheedy and Peter Beardsley so brilliant for us!
the managers available aren’t appealing and none of the English managers are good enough. Rafael for me

This would make me finally give up on the club. None of this “give him a chance”, I would be counting down the days until he left the club from the day he signed.

Doesn't really make sense though, as doesn't he like to pretty much combine the role of manager and Director of Football? He was close to joining Milan last season but they wouldn't bow to that demand.
