I honestly don’t care about the “small team / club” comment, it was years ago and not something I give a toss about any more. It was said out of frustration after we’d held them to a point at their place, so he obviously had a titty lip on.

Facts are, his last 2 jobs were completely underwhelming. Yes of course there will be reasons on both sides of the fence for that, but I just cannot fathom any real positives for Everton trying to revive his career for him and giving him this chance.

He is also very uncharismatic and dour. We need somebody with energy and positivity who is willing to get tough to implement his style on this football club. That is not Rafael, one last big pay cheque Benitez.
Spot on regardless of his history or comments I dont warm to him anyway. We need energy, progressive vision and a coach with ideas. Rafael is negative and divisive and toxic with a large section of the fanbase and always will be. And he has the hide of a rhino and a big ego, he comes across as cold it's a recipe for disaster.

He was delighted, i literally just told you he loved him. I was a big fan of Moyes, but I can still see why people didn't like his style of play. Same thing applies, he liked the fact he won them a CL (and the fact that he fawned over them and told them how wonderful they are as a club and fans and really bought into the whole flag waving, badge wearing, generally being a danger to society thing you I mean they have going on over there) but not so much the style of play.
well I can only deduce that any concerns he had about style of play were more than overcome by the success of the team.

There's alot of revisionism going on here. Maybe your red friend says that now he's being treated to Klopp football, but I don't remember many reds with their heads in their hands back in the day. They were all mostly delighted.

er, no. He went to China cos it was an easy way out of Newcastle and for huge financial gain. In all his jobs he's been totally committed. Look, we've had Koeman and Ancelotti, they would be leaving FF at 4.30 at the latest, Benitez won't be doing that.

He'll be leaving at 9.15 on his first day after he sees the next wave of banners, hopefully.

Again, thats a fan delusion to think he'd
take us for a ride. The same can be said of the names touted in terms of taking the money regardless of success.

As for job offers...the same can be said to your Favre's etc who have been out of the job for months with plenty of clubs wanting managers.
You know what, if you can't see what a disastrous appointment this would be, I despair.

Your cons list is written by someone lacking maturity and does not have any real bearing on anything:

1) we don't know that, if he has met the board several times and he's like adolph hitler, yes he won't get the job.
2) who cares, really? CA basically said the same and it's hardly even mentioned and he buggered off and left us in this mess! Much worse.
3) He's keen, this is good.
4) So what? Not relevant to anything
5) Grow up.
6) We don't know this. You are speculating.
7) Speculation.

Oh the maturity is hanging out of you isn't it.

1. I know he is a horrible human being... I have listened to him belittle our club before and after every derby. Lots of former players have commented on how horrible he is.
2. Who cares that he called Everton FC a "small club"? Are you for real?

Was going to comment on the rest of your childish responses, however the above is Game Set Match. Jog on son

I don't know what's more incredible , Rafael being interviewed or there's actually FSW cheerleaders here .
if we were in pretty good shape, and had a good list of likely candidates, I'd agree it would be more trouble than it's worth maybe. But we are in dire straits, and he is the outstanding candidate.

Yeah it's genuinely weird. I can totally get people saying oh well I'll support whoever it is, I don't like it but i'll get on with it, but the people actually defending him and saying how good it would be I just can't get my head round at all.

If we do appoint someone half decent and not Benitez the vibe in here will be so good and we’ll all be happy to have been played by the media spin of ‘it’ll be this awful guy - actually it’s not, aren’t you happy?’

A good portion would not care that he managed the RS if he was good, Obviously it the RS and small club annoys some but the majority just don't rate him.
He's a football fossil.
I think all the talk about Benitez being washed up is unfair . Surely the same comments apply to Ancelotti , and Real Madrid still wanted him

What I would say is that if the Everton Board still go ahead and appoint
Benitez then surely they have lost all credibility in being able to call themselves ‘ the people’s club ‘ , because they haven’t taken any notice of their fans
