The atmosphere around the club will make it very easy for the players to hide behind another manager. I can't think of a worse appointment for the players to get a free pass.
And may be he can finally get rid of the players that have hidden behind the last 5 managers and get players in that actually want to win something

I don't dislike him, never have. I've always respected his outstanding qualities as a coach. I like the way his teams play, and the players he signs. The bottom line is I think the crowd will come around cos I think he will improve us.
And he's head and shoulders above all the other potential candidates in my view. Potter, or Benitez, Nuno or Benitez? He's five times better than either.

Bet you’re fun at parties.

You may be the first person ever to say this. Even my red mate who loves Benitez concedes that he didn't particularly like the way they played under him.

The issue you have, and I count myself very much as part of this- is that as fans we have a clear vision of what we want the club to be. We want to buy younger and develop players and to make the balance sheets look good.

Clearly Usmanov/Moshiri don't care about financial health of the club at this point, or about having a hipster process. They want an experienced manager in who can quickly move Everton's fortunes forward.

There is a lot of chat that Moshiri was unhappy with Ancelotti at the end of last season and even considering options. I would imagine Benitez will have a minimum requirements of European qualification and in all honesty they will want top 4.

I'd say forget the ideas of penny pinching, if he's appointed we will be likely adding 4 or 5 players again.

It won't sit right with people, but that's where we are currently.

We probably should've been more active last summer when we had a genuine 'Hollywood' Manager.

The Right Back debacle and going into a new season without a back up striker and a squad stripped of pace. Then sitting in a Champions League place at Christmas and bringing in Josh King on loan - a player we decided against adding to the squad a few months before.

There's alot of revisionism going on here. Maybe your red friend says that now he's being treated to Klopp football, but I don't remember many reds with their heads in their hands back in the day. They were all mostly delighted.

He does till we get found out again, his first year was magic, the second... er not as magical, actually made my eyes bleed.

His first year he had the benefit of a Moyes set up. After that first season I was bored senseless most of the time. Pass back and side until you lose the ball.

He didn't bomb badly. That's false narrative.

Unbeaten in their champions league group. Most goals scored in Europe. Chances are that they would have won the champions league with Rafael in charge.

They were 3rd in the league, 4 points behind when he was sacked. Its said that the reason he was sacked was political reasons, rather than results.

For instance when they lost 4-0 to Barcelona, he was told to play an attacking side, when he wanted to play more defensive. He was told which players needed to play. If he was left to his own devices, results would have been different. But at Madrid, its all about appeasing sponsors.

Seriously though, how much is he paying you?

lol

We aren’t going to be 3-0 up against Liverpool at any point in the near future I’m afraid.
We just won 2-0 with a crap team at Analfield with a crap team stop trying to predict the future or get a bloody tent on Blackpool beach with a crystal ball never seen so many people wanting the club to fail just to spite some man and no i am not a big fan of Benitez or a Kopite but its getting tedious reading all the bile and the wanting for us to cock it up for some just to say i told you so
