A three week process and we end up with the most divisive ill fitting manager possible. Everton that. This club will never do anything until it has an identity and a plan that runs from the top of the club down. Look at Liecester, Leeds and even Villa romping away from us in terms of recruitment and long term identity. I am not even mentioning the top six. I understood Carlo because he is top class but it wasn't the best fit because he is used to working with world class players but I don't understand Rafael and he will be a divisive presence. If he is appointed it confirms how ridiculously short sighted this club is, we won't compete by making short term toxic decisions based on "name" value or "cv" but he doesn't fit the model we should be looking he has a history of falling out with owners and directors of football and has a poor recent record and what's more he is going to be toxic for most fans regardless.. Moshiri knows very little about football and shouldn't be bringing in the manager it should be Brands, if I was Brands I would walk. I am in despair at how much this club is being driven into the ground.

I don't think fans would care that he managed the rs if he wasn't washed up. That's the biggest concern for me. He wants the job because it's local, we seem to want him because he's local.
A good portion would not care that he managed the RS if he was good, Obviously it the RS and small club annoys some but the majority just don't rate him.
He's a football fossil.

There would not be many dissenters to this. It’s the obvious choice for me now.
The perfect appointment from the start. Defensively solid, aggressive attack minded football, great to watch. Lets Brands be a dof bringing unpolished players while favre turns them into finished article, then sell them on for big money or keep. But hey this is Everton we dont do sensible. Nsno (if only)

Positives of Rafael
  1. Has a track-record of winning trophies, unlike other candidates like Nuno, Potter & Howe. There is a complete lack of a winning mentality throughout EFC that we need to change.
  2. He might attract players
  3. He has stated he wants a longer project
  4. He isn't as negative tactically as Fat Sam, Koeman or even Carlo. "dour" football is what we do.

Cons
  1. he is a horrible human being
  2. "small club" comment
  3. He smacks of desperation and he has publicly stated he wants this job 3 times
  4. Guillem Balague will comment daily on EFC.
  5. Anyone who goes to China is a money-grabbing wh8re
  6. Brands is clearly against this, so what is the point of him?
  7. Won't help create a football business model, identity and style and we will back back in 18 months talking about Big Dunc, Potter and Ralf Rangnick
Your cons list is written by someone lacking maturity and does not have any real bearing on anything:

1) we don't know that, if he has met the board several times and he's like adolph hitler, yes he won't get the job.
2) who cares, really? CA basically said the same and it's hardly even mentioned and he buggered off and left us in this mess! Much worse.
3) He's keen, this is good.
4) So what? Not relevant to anything
5) Grow up.
6) We don't know this. You are speculating.
7) Speculation.

The worst appointment for me would have been Moyes but it is closely followed by FSW .Just from a personal view ,if we lose any amount of games he will be hung drawn and quartered , surely no one wants that .

I don't think that's what the supposed quote was. It was something like "he expected better", which I think was suggesting he wasn't impressed with how Everton handled speaking to him.

It's a moot point though, as that quote was made up by some no mark Twitter itk.

Oh. Everton's fault he probably wants a bigger named club?

He was more likely wanting the Spurs job but they haven't even bothered with him

Yes he did - but I'm prepared to give the benefit of the doubt and say he was just playing the game, like the wwf pantomime. Its not as if he were born and brought up in the north west with any true allegiances.

Anyhow- surely we're big enough to laugh at it and not let it hurt us?

Correct - Football is a soap opera and can't be taken too seriously.
