Let’s say we snuck into Europe last season, I think in hindsight I may have rather had Leeds’ season.
Exciting attacking football, some big scalps, a young growing team who work together - next season they can build on that.
Look at our squad, disjointed, slow, no width… we need a huge overhaul and Europe would’ve painted over the cracks unless we have a huge clear out and bring in 6+ new players

I'm finding the delay really annoying actually. Pre season is nearly upon us and we cant look at signings yet. Just get it done.

We were 1 win off 62 points which was 7th. Couple of home draws we'd have been 5th or 6th last season.

Didn't really need Carlo to overhaul much to achieve something consistent. He'd already identified who was going, coming in, where the next step was.

Problem we have now it someone new coming in and looking at it from his point of view. The best thing to do is not continue where Carlo left off but to just dismantle the lot and restart. The squad is a patchwork of 4 different managers, lacking in depth and quality.

It's 9 days until preseason starts. Even if we were about to appoint Guardiola or a peak SAF, this would show a lack of organisation.

Would genuinely take him back over bringing FSW in.

Indeed Martinez would not be my favourite either but a less toxic appointment than FSW.
Haven't seen a lot of the Belgium games, but it doesnt seem like they concede many from set pieces like we did or have a young John Stones in their team making mistakes while playing out from the back.
He also plays 3-4-3 so he shows he can adapt.
1 thing i dont know if he has changed is his big friendly smile in post match press conference saying he saw positives when no one else did. Think he would work well with a DoF like Brands and Big Dunc as a strong nr 2 and no crap like all his ex-Wigan pals again. Doubt though he wanna leave the Belgium team though and return to us.
