I genuinely don't get it. It's the fundamental lacks of principles or self-respect this very small pocket of Benitez appeasers seem to have. It is absolutely right for people to turn round and say "wait no hang on this and Allardyce are disgusting appointments, wtf is going on".
I think we all find it either disgusting or hard to swallow.

But it's done. What's achieved by the protest? Those owners aren't for turning other than by a boycott of the club. Is that an option?

Sad isn't it.

There's going to be some Everton fans who would rather we lose games if it meant Benitez was sacked than succeed if he isn't.

Again, this is hyperbolic garbage. The vast majority would see the loss of games bit happily avoided by the simple strategy of not employing him in the first place.

I see a majority dont want him , but with the realisation it is defo happening there is a shift of still not happy but accepting in support of the team & club.

That could all change very quickly if the season starts off badly.
He'll be gone by November. It's a toxic situation. Was always going to be.
It's not even the r/s bit that bugs me but the fact is he's crap and has been for some time. It shows no ambition. No progression whatsoever.
7th out of 8 teams his last job, on 12m a year :)

To be honest as I've mentioned previously, accelerated by the pandemic, we are into a new phase where a "fanbase" is completely inconsequential. Clubs can demonstrably exist without the paying punter, so why bother to pander to them?

Yeah i have noticed that shift too in the last week with mates and all over social media, even on here too although most wouldn't admit it.

I mean in fairness Dave they seemed to turn on Allardyce after the fans turned.

To be honest theyve turned on most managers when the fans have turned, Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce, Silva etc. They just go quiet, offer no support to the manager and act in the fans anger.

In that context I'm not sure you can blame fans for thinking they can make it ungovernable for Benitez and force a change.

I mean whatever we all think of the above managers, and I doubt theres a single person who would like all 4, they were all let down by a process and a board above them who are too cowardly to stick themselves in the firing line.

So rightly or wrongly, its completely understandable people will think they can bounce Benitez out quickly.

"We have to accept it and get behind him"

No, thats not how it works
