Everyone who's hurled personal abuse at Benitez, called him a fat this and a Spanish that, who applauded the abusive banners at goodison, who have threatened to do this that or the other if he gets the job.

Evertonians massively condemned - rightly - Liverpool fans for launching missiles at opposing team buses and firing rockets at the liver building.

Someone doesn't want him as our manager and has written a poorly worded bedsheet banner thinking it looks a bit menacing.

It is shockingly crass and stupid. It is however not a death threat. If I received something like that I would be concerned but would assume someone is going to lash a brick through my window or something. (which is still bad obviously).

If it was a genuine death threat then it shouldn't be a case of just us talking about it on here and it should be getting looked into by the police.

As a lawyer my view is that the message can definately be construed as a threat of violence if Benitez agress to become Everton manager.

It is not however a threat to kill.
