There is a difference between not rating a player who is/was serving up slop over the course of 1+ seasons and hammering a bloke who's not even 1 second into the job!!

Thats the point - if Benitez comes on board and does crap by all means chase him out - but doing so before a ball has even been kicked is embarassing and makes the fanbase look like self entitled idiots.

A divisive appointment that is causing ructions between the fanbase. This was always coming if he was appointed.

At this point we should all be sat here wondering if (insert Manager A) has what it takes to take us to the next level whilst laughing at you for wanting Dyche and Zaha. (I'm with you on Dyche actually). instead we have got this incredibly nasty situation where everybody is having a pop at everybody else and questioning their support.

I don't even know who's side people are on at this point. We shouldn't be in this position.

I feel embarrassed.

Sick of the negativity of certain individuals on here. It will be what it will be and Everton comes first and wish the manager whoever they will be as much luck as possible.

He'll get booed massively at his first match, then a bit for a few more, we'll play some mediocre football and he'll be sacked in a few months. Its the sheer pointlessness of it that I can't get my head round.

None of that will happen.

There will be some booing at the first game but I think it will be isolated to pockets in the ground.

Impossible to predict the results at best, even more difficult to do before any transfer activity.

I know people think the "delay" means theres something up, but personally I think it was all signed and sealed last week and hes basically already "working".

If I had to guess I reckon we are trying to do a deal or 2 on some players to soften the blow.

I think they’ll announce it during England vs Germany thinking it’ll be a good distraction when in reality all it means is the commentary team will talk about it as it’s ‘breaking news’ and the whole country will know all about it instead.

I think you are on the right track.

I think negotiations include transfer budgets, transfer targets, relationships between various people at the club.

I do believe that when announced he will already have started working .

We've tried this. We ended up with Roberto Martinez and Marco Silva.

It doesn't work, the job is too big for them.

Both were clearly not able to organise a team defensively. It wasn't a well kept secret before appointing them and has got zero to do with the job being too big for them! All the example of Martinez and Silva proves is our poor recruitment strategy, see also Koeman, Walsh, Brands, Allardyce etc.
