You have nothing to be upset about - you're alive and well and Everton will still be there start of the season.

See what happens next season before crying over spilt milk there is little point when you cant change anything.
You've got what you wanted now, you've been cheerleading this appointment for a couple of weeks now, you'd best own it. If the football's dire, you asked for it, if we slide down the table, you asked for it, if we play a midfield of Sigurdsson, Gomes and Shelvey, you asked for it. No backsies.

….the fans wouldn’t have been happy with the names you mention, but it’s a big old world out there & i’m sure there are far less divisive appointments.

As I say, I accept Benitez could be decent but he’s humiliated us and pandered to the Cult.

This isn’t about who we should appoint, it’s about who we definitely shouldn’t appoint.
He stated that crudely, but our own Manager was saying playing a top four team it's like taking a knife to a gunfight ......our chairman stating we needs a billionaire, not a millionaire etc we were cash strapped ....

DM did a very good job at times, but has flopped at big clubs .,....did ok at W Ham ...

Any Manager who we employ has a hell of a job to butchering all the deadwood ......

We need a complete rebuild in midfield plus at right back etc etc .....

If the board think RB is the man so be it '..,..
If he falters he will get sacked ......

I only hope that journalist call this for what it is. The owner making a decision going against all advice to appoint a man who he has failed to appoint on the at least 4 othet occasions he has applied for the job.

Wonder if the delay has been the PR department getting things in order here, as they have to know the backlash will be substantial.

He’ll say all the right things, apologize, and will know he’s on a short leash with the fans. If he wins and gets a cup, he will be forgiven. If he doesn’t move us forward he’ll be on the outs within a year or two.

Uninspired and disconnected from the club but will support the team and won't stoop to the level of abusing him. I blame the board more. I have accepted it I will move on I hope any manager we appoint even RB, is successful even if I think it's a poor choice. But we don't make the decisions we have to hope it works for the sake of the club. Now onto improving the squad which is the biggest issue.

The line of succession is now established.

Benitez --- Moyes ---- Ferguson

Amazing. Nothing will be the same.
Worse than appointing Benitez for me is the fact that ten years on the board still can't move on from David Moyes with his 0 trophies and 0 away wins at the big 4. It's staggering the lack of ambition from a club that doesn't shut up about it.

Outside Goodison Park right now...
