Benitez had won nothing in the same timescale that Nuno has been managing.

Obviously its factually correct but it doesn't tell a true picture. Same with a lot of managers really.

It’s very rare to be able to find a manager with experience of winning silverware in a major European League, because silverware is generally confined to those who have managed the top clubs.

Everton don’t necessarily need a manager able to win silverware with top teams, that was what the club had with CA and it was not ideal for where this club are right now.

Everton need a manager with a track record of moving clubs from outside the top teams in to being able to regularly compete with those teams. Mr Benitez does have experience of doing that, even though it was a long time ago.

He is not my choice but he can be a success.

In 'supporting' Everton Football Club you hold certain standards. It's written on the crest. This whole scenario is as far away from them values as Destination Kirkby was, and comes strangely at a point when I thought the wounds of that rift were healing.
This is playing on 'brand loyalty' ironically by actually going against the brand's own core. Bizarre 'kup to be fair.
