Was having a read of this before too, seems to be some decent people on that forum.

Most of them are fond of Nuno, they say we won't like his defensive football though.

To be honest I've got no problem with defensive football if its winning football. The organised, defend and counter attack victories we had in our away games this season were very enjoyable to me. Defensive football isn't an issue, unambitious football is an issue.

Mauricio Pochettino has done everything to join #thfc, however, they are ultimately set to appoint Antonio Conte. The Argentine remains ready to leave Paris Saint-Germain and is even willing to go without a new club. | @repubblica

I thought that as well, they all seemed quite level headed and insightful

Appointing any manager is a risk, as a Wolves fan I am petrified of our next manager, we have just let go a manager who has been our most successful in decades, he is a true gentleman and he was able to leave with dignity, which he deserved. Was it the right time for a change?, I possibly believe it was!. The football since the first lockdown was sterile and yes boring, how much of this was down to fatigue, injuries, or lack of fans we will just have to wait and find out. I do believe the Everton job is a step up, Nuno was able to basically re-build our squad and place personal into positioned that suited his system. Can he go into a club who want overnight success and the pressures of their fans to deliver this straight away, I am not too sure, and I do not believe Everton fans will be on side long enough to wait to find out. It would depend on what he brings, fast counter attacking football or the boring men behind the ball and slow build up play. I believe Everton have the players to suit the fast counter football and if Nuno can relive his 1st 2-3 seasons with us, he would make a success.
Counter attacking football will only get you so far and possibly not enough to propel you into the league where you feel you deserve. I am not then sure Nuno can make that next step forward with a possession-based game without defying his defence first principles, we tried last season and failed miserably, the central midfielders are basically cover for the defence, hence we struggled to get bodies in the box, slow play then allowed the opposition to re-organise. Of course, better players may help but if we didn’t have a relatively solid start to last season, I think we would have been struggling with the relegation candidates. I was as shocked as anybody that Nuno was relieved of his duties given what he had done for us but as stated I feel the time was right, just worried going forward from a steady ship to God knows what

Thanks for taking the time to post mate, a Wolves fan came yesterday and said similar. I'll echo some of my thoughts concerns that I gave to him to you and see if you have a different outlook.

To what degree do you think the loss of Jimenez and Jota really did for you last season? We had a similar drop off when losing Lukaku and Barkley. How much of the drop off would you attribute to those 2 players?

My concern is exactly yours though. Wolves in their 2 great seasons got 59 and 57 points respectively. Do you think he hits a bit of a glass ceiling at that point? As we are currently coming off a season with 59 points, and the concern would be, is he capable of getting any higher than that? Did you get the sense at Wolves, if he was given more time and backing he could get much beyond that?

What do people think about Benitez coming? He's managed some amazing players in his time, and given the right tools for the job I definitely think he'd achieve more than most of the names on the list. I know there's baggage, and all that "small club" nonsense when he managed the rs, but it's one of the few appointments that I wouldn't be certain would fail.

I think looking at Wolves squad for last season 12th is actually OK. Their LWB and 3 centre halves aren't great and Silva, Traore and Podence are pretty toothless. I will say this though, nuno spent an awful lot of money on bang average players to try an fix things, Cutrone, Willian Jose, Silva, Semedo and I'm sure I've forgotten some

Absolutely no, he hasn’t done anything in football for about 8 years. Getting Newcastle United promoted from the Championship isn’t an achievement.

By all accounts, Nuno had no say in the transfers at Wolves.

No manager is winning anything here with Brands signing the players.

Deluded to think otherwise imo - we just need someone who can actually give fans a bit of joy i.e. fight on the pitch and the ods european adventure thats this clubs glass ceiling.
Wow
So we give up trying and just aim to fail

I do believe Duncan deserves a shot at the job , but for a couple of years I would get a senior man to mentor him (someone like Roy Hodgson).

Duncan would have control but at the same time have a lot of knowledge and experience to draw on.

It's a shame we don't really have an elder statesman club legend any more who could work alongside him. Royle has been struggling in recent years and of course we don't have Kendall any more.

He needs to go elsewhere first probably.

Colin Harvey is still alive, like.

I just want a manager who wants to be here. Genuinely fed up of managers and players coming in after losses like nothing is wrong, talking down our expectations, looking like they’re doing us a favour just being here.

If we can’t have winning football then at least give the fans a bit of love for the club to get behind. Carlo had his moments of doing it but they died away as the season went on. We had a few games under Dunc and Unsworth (not saying they are the answer at all btw) where the fan base could get united behind someone they liked and there was a bit of fire back in the fan base. Everything else since Martinez’s first season though has just been complete apathy with fans just bickering with each other and even the wins being largely meaningless and predictable.

I’d take any manager who genuinely wants to be here and can motivate the players and the fans to get us all moving forward. I’m not even bothered about style at this point. I’d love to see an Everton team with 11 plyers scrapping for every ball, getting it forward quickly and battling for headers, throwing tackles in just as much as I’d like to see one that could pass a team off the park. The problem is we’ve been seeing neither, teams just floating apathetically through games season after season.
100% this club sucks the life out of you. I just want someone who wants to be here not this endless merry go round every year. If Moyes still really wants it kick him in the spuds for what he done and if he still wants it give him 5yr deal.

For the love of god stop this
