There’s no way he’s coming to Everton for sure. He’d have a blazing row with the board at the first recruitment meeting and quit!
If that article is true then he only wants to go to a Champions League club, not sure if he'll get that. He may have to wait for someone to be sacked, which is never far away in most cases!

We would look massively hypocritical if we did this. Koeman and Silva were both 'poached' from smaller clubs and we had a good old laugh at Watford fans when they turned up at Goodison with their toy snakes.

Like it or not, there is an order of merit in football, and any ambitious manager will jump at the opportunity to manage a club higher in that order, regardless of their contract or how long they have been at a club. We know that, and have used it to our advantage plenty of times. We have also seen it in action with Moyes and now Ancelotti. We can't pick and choose when it applies.
Your sensible, well made point is getting in the way of my righteous anger. Cease and desist!

Winning the cup is not the point. I want players prepared for first team footy. I don’t give a hoot about PL2 silverware. We need to strengthen the academy big time. And Unsy’s footy is not helping prepare them

....winning the FA Youth Cup is key. Hurst, Husband, Osman, Dunne, Hibbert, Jeffers, Ball, Cadamarteri et al were all in successful FA Youth Cup years, Rooney was part of a team beaten in the final. The FA Youth Cup is U18.

The fact we continually fail to reach the latter stages suggests talent isn’t coming into the club (ironically we did ok this season & might have a decent one or two in that batch). They are not particularly stifled at PL2. This might be a recruitment (rather than a coaching) issue, or it might be more to do with kids not playing the game to the extent we did. When I wasn’t in school I played football to such an extent you become quite good.

Sorry, but I think it’s a bit lazy blaming Unsworth for the lack of talent coming through when the problem might be much deeper. It’s not as if there’s a plethora of top players in the top flight who have been released from our Academy. Also, worth noting it was Unsworth who went to the Board and recommended we purchase DCL.

I'll be taking my toy snake to the Bernabeu in a couple of seasons mate with Eddie Howe's blue and white army don't you worry about that.

I wouldnt be against Pirlo. Didnt think he did too badly at Juve....

He did really well with the young players and i think they need to recycle a lot of players in their squad.

Reckon he would do well if Brands went for young player recruitment.

I don't know. It looked like he had some problems with the non-young players.

But it could totally be because they were in the same team so they couldn't see him as a manager.

It all depends on what they want to do with the team I guess.
