....decent contraction in Graham Potters odds.

Yes, only Catterick, Kendall and Royle are ex-players who have won trophies as an Everton manager. Whereas outsiders have won - nothing?
That’s a cool stat and all, but firstly it’s a very small sample size and secondly we’re talking about eras when it was much less of an international game and clubs being managed by ex-players was relatively common.

Why have we bothered cheering on the team under the last few managers if only ex-players can succeed in charge?!

As I’ve said before, if the boyhood blue in you wants Dunc as a manager that’s fine, but let’s not pretend it wouldn’t be a massive disaster.

Personally think he needs to get a job at a lower league side and prove he can handle the main role first similiar to Gerrard.

No amount of training or qualifications can prepare someone for the real thing - the first game under him we looked good the remaining 3 we were bang average.
If he wasnt an ex rangers man the celtic job would've been perfect for him to cut his teeth. Tend to agree tho, he's not ready for a club like Everton. Would hate to see him fail also

Baines never scored a free kick for us at Goodison and Siggy hasn’t scored a free kick for us at all in a proper game.
Now they are my fave stats.

But shouldn't we try and give him a chance, the last 5 managers have been a mess.

Every interesting Everton stat is probably one that makes you want to punch yourself in the nuts. Just another cross for us to bear.

I still brace myself/cringe to this day every time I’m watching PL Years or something and they say something along the lines of “… the striker only scored once in his time with the club…” because I know what’s coming next.

Agreed - it is a very small sample size. Only three ex-players have won trophies with Everton.
Mathematically that's infinitely more than the zero trophies won by outsiders, including a number of managers with "international" experience.

No idea on your age mate, but every time we played certain players they always scored against us as well.
Les Ferdinand. Ian Wright. Shearer. Chris Armstrong.
Not even going down the RS route.
