Everyone needs to stop sniffing glue and just forget about Conte, its not going to happen. He is high maintenance and we’re not going to give yet another new coach an open chequebook to buy whoever he pleases.

Would be fun to Iwobi telling Conte he sees himself playing as an attacking midfielder though
Who your pick?
mentioned him earlier as someone fitting the mould, Diego Martinez from Granada. Hes proven himself with a shoestring budget which would tie in well with our likely reluctance/inability of giving the new appointment a big transfer kitty.

I just don’t see us going down that route. I don’t see Conte wanting to come here unless he’s guaranteed a lot of money to play around with. I didn’t see it under Carlo so I doubt we’d see it under someone like Conte.

It’s true this summer we’ll have a bit of leeway because wages have been freed up and we do have a few sellable assets but again it’s going to take time for us to weed out the duds and build a team capable of being up and around the top 6 consistently.

Conte is another manager who generally brings success in a short amount of time similarly to Carlo by spending heavily. I just think if after 18 months he’s still getting by on buttons and getting nowhere he’ll just pull another Carlo.
It was only a few weeks ago Carlo was talking about breaking FFP rules.
When Silva and fat boy was sacked all we got was What do Everton fans want, Everton are joking if they think there better then Moyes and then we got Carlo
The club need to prove that Carlo wasn’t a 1 off and they can get a big name manager again an it wasn’t a flash in the pan

People are saying we shouldnt go for Conte because he will leave in 18 months which maybe true. So could any manager. It’s not a reason to not even try he the best manager that’s currently available.
Best example is we been dumped and saying well I won’t go after her because I might get dumped again, so I go after a ugly girl as she less likely to leave and give me stability

Its weird as what people are advocating is bring in a steady eddie for a few years but doing that the long term aim will be to eventually attract a top manager anyway lol

I don't think it's happening this time around. Brands is considering managers like Nuno and Potter etc i.e coaches.

Club needs a Paradigm shift, we represent almost the complete opposite of our motto.

The Toffees?.... our recruitment strategy seems more like ‘pic n mix’, with no clear approach and everyone choosing a favourite.

As a result, we’ve got a squad full of marshmallows who melt at the first sign of any heat.... most of them should be stuck on skewers and toasted over a big pile of burning Carlo posters.

Brands, DOF - This must be Director Of Fashion, surely... Not seen much in the way of actual football since he was appointed, but DCL & Tom Davies been photographed out on cultural trips looking like extras from Austin Powers.

I’ve no idea if Brands is terrible at his job or just not given the freedom to actually do it?... 50/50 on this one.

We don’t seem to have any kind of cohesive strategy, any spirit, any fight.... or any chance of winning anything any time soon.

Who we appoint as the next manager is the least of our problems with things as they stand.

Doesn’t matter what filling is in the Buttie if the Bread is mouldy...

Dont really understand why people would even want conte after the Ancelotti debacle. 2 sides of the same coin.
Why wouldn’t you? Cos Carlo left

you know why your saying that?
Everton managers don’t get poached they get sacked, we are not use to it, yet 90% of clubs face it every season.
We could get almost any manager in the league except 3/4

We’re not gonna break through this glass ceiling by chipping away. In this game you’ve got to smash through it by getting the best there is. One is available and it would be ridiculous if we just hide in the shadows and not go for it. Literally got nothing to lose.

Still over 150 people

should both have 0 votes
I'm sure they both would if that list included Poch, Simeone etc. But it doesn't because we have had no links to them, and I'm not sure that we will. Naturally, with that list of names linked so far, it's going to split people and some may think that Moyes is a better option than someone like Nuno, or think that Conte isn't attainable. Who knows if he is btw, let's wait and find out

Pirlo wouldn't be high up my list, but to be frank, this is complete and utter nonsense.

Sarri was sacked the season before he took over after boring everybody to death and only just winning Serie A by 1 point over Inter (83 overall). Their squad is/was full of veterans who aren't anywhere near the level they were 3 or 4 seasons ago. Pirlo came in on a short-term contract and oversaw Juve's attempts to try and reduce the age of the squad and, all-in-all, did a reasonable job.

They finished this season on 5 points less than the season before. Five. That's not a 'complete failure' for a club in transition by any definition.

Spot on.

The 'favourites for the title' had:

Chiesa
Rabiot
De Ligt
Kulusevski
McKennie
Demiral
Arthur

Other than those 7 the rest of the squad needs a total overhaul.

They should have given him another season.

Who your choice?

Moshiri/Kenwright have chosen Martinez, Koeman, Silva, Allardyce and Ancelotti who have all failed. Both are not involved in the footballing world day to day

Brands was brought in for these types of situations so he needs to be the one choosing the next manager
Only 1 of them is a actually a good manager the 4 are garbage despite who they are currently coaching

Agree. I think the only reason he got the job is Juve wanted Allegri last summer but couldn't get him, so they gave it to Pirlo knowing full-well they'd try again this summer - and he evidently said yes.

I really dont believe you watched them. Either that or you didnt understand what he was trying to achieve and how the older players (mostly) failed him...

FORWARDS

Pirlo wants to press teams high up the pitch and then drop back to defend.

He cant press high up the pitch because:

Ronaldo doesnt press + no point only Morata pressing up top.

Therefore he had to go immediately deep with a press which is 10th in the league statistically. Something that does not follow his tactical plans.

DEFENCE

Then you have Bonucci/Chiellini who arent good enough. If you watched 50% of the Juventus games then you can see that with your own eyes.

Chiellini is gifting goals away and Bonucci is done. The only thing they succeeded in doing was sitting very deep when they played and this also nullified Pirlos tactic of pushing forward -- with Danilo as a utility player coming in (hardly a top player) and Sandro playing about half a season.

De Ligt was injured and Demiral needs a player next to him who is a calming influence...the older players let him down there.

Cuadrado is the only player at the back who consistently played well...but only for half a season as a typical right back.

Again, if you watched 50% of the games you would know this.

So neither the defence or forwards were able to follow his plans

Kind of an obstacle dont you think?

MIDFIELD

Bernardeschi is rubbish.

Ramsey was freqently injured and showed high levels of ability occasionally

Rabiot grew into his role over the season.

Bentacur was basically Gomes in terms of consistency

McKennie arrived unfit and unconditioned and yet Pirlo managed to develop him as the legs in midfield even though he didnt last for full matches as he doesnt have the stamina to carry the midfield on his own.

Its quite funny you mention Arthur playing more for Juventus than Barca...if you watched both teams...you would see that they started him about the same amount of times.

Kulusevski and Chiesa were two shining lights of the season. If you watched the matches you would often see the space that Pirlos tactics created for them out wide.

But yeah...you say you watched the games but cant actually explain why Pirlo's tactics werent good.

"He lost games" isnt a critique of a managers tactics....

He won 2 trophies and got them champions league with a squad decimated by injury and suffering from age and a lack of quality in depth.

What are your thoughts on Pirlo?

If he had tactical plans that he couldn’t do due to the players he has not being capable of following them then it’s his job to create new plans that work which clearly didn’t. You want me to sit he explaining why his tactics aren’t good, I genuinely don’t need to because if they was good they wouldn’t have finished 4th, or he most certainly wouldn’t have been sacked.

never doubted half his team was absolutely rubbish, you can see watching them some of the players should have retired last season or at least dropped down a level to mid tier bit league league or the mls etc. Major rebuild is needed for juve for sure, without it they’ll be what happened to Lyon after dominating for so many years.

honestly, other than scholes pirlo is probably my favorite midfielder ever, would absolutely love to be wrong, he joins and does an incredible job, just don’t see it. Hopefully he doesn’t go by his playing reputation and instead drops a bit and proves his quality by getting a mid table team competing for higher up.

Anyways getting sidetracked too much here.

The more I read about rangnick the better it sounds, major focus on buying young potential world class with a world class scouting network whilst always pressing for the ball after losing possession sounds class.
