I don’t doubt Moshiri would pay Conte’s wages but he supposedly wants a team that’s ready to compete for titles. That ain’t us......
I think he's more looking for a club where the backing will be good and the intent for success is clear and supportive of the manager.

That... might be us?

You never know. To be clear, I don't think NES would be a bad appointment to hit our targets over a few seasons, I just think Conte is more of a sure thing if backed.

…I agree, Louie. I think this job is much more high-profile & lucrative than many fans think.
According to The Athletic, prior to appointing Ancelotti, the only manager we approached whom told us 'thanks but no thanks' straight away was Poch. Even Simeone had a little mull over it himself apparently.

A big name like Conte is what the club needs if they want to keep this current team together and add to it. He’d have the pull maybe to persuade Richarlison and James etc to stick with us.

I think it’s unlikely he’ll come here unless Moshiri intends to spend £150million this summer on transfers. For that reason, plus the lack of quality in the existing squad I’d be sceptical about Conte coming here.

Nuno or the like will mean a rebuilding process taking a few years and probably a few sales of key players.

Nuno would be terrible, another Portuguese hipster manager coming from a mid table club. He would destroy us.

We have lots of money, plus the compo from RM, there is no reason we can't go for Conte

The wages on offer would make anyone think about it. It’s really about the ambition of the club and what backing they are offering that would get someone of Simeone’s calibre over the line.

I imagine the way Ancelotti walked out may be a bit of a red flag to some candidates but of course he left for Real Madrid, not West Ham, so it’s understandable.

He's a cone layer by ability.

He was at the heart of the last 3/4 regimes. Question: how many people do you know who have survived as an assistant manager a few times? I can't think of any. He's basically one of those old retainers that the aristocratic landed families keep out of a sense of obligation.
Colin Harvey was assistant, got sacked as manager and then went back to assistant.

And how do you know what his abilities are? Have you trained with him?

He has his Pro License so his ability to lay cones must be pretty high.

Any chance there can be a new page for the boys to chat about other sports? Leaving us morons to look at the all important bet checkers and xg something or other? I might just go cut my grass.

We're handicapped with money at the moment due to previous poor financial dealings and the new stadium meaning we're treading close to FFP. It's also reported we got minimal compensation, if any, from Real Madrid as there was a clause in Ancelotti's contract.

Conte has fallen out with the owners of his last few clubs too and is an unrealistic target. Nuno has had Wolves in Europe and finished higher than us in 2/3 seasons.

Sheffield Utd finished above us one of those seasons, West Ham this season
We’ve been terrible

Yes but the level of PRESSURE is so different there in Watford or Wolves. It's Everton, it can be toxic, the expectations are so high. We want some sort of success asap, preferably a trophy. Not sure Nuno can take it. Wolves fans expected nothing from him.

Nuno has delt with expectations at Valencia and Porto

Remember the story about Ancelotti, when he signed up for the club? He was wined and dined on Uzmanovs yacht in the days before signing up with Everton but denied it was anything to do with the job?

Expect similar action to be taken with Conte.

….we need @davek to take his boat & park it next to the Usmanov yacht;

I’m not talking facts, but my points are at least based on what’s actually happened and not what you want to happen.

Theres absolutely no evidence to suggest that Ferguson would be able to work with Brands, and be successful, nor would we be able to magic up players from the youth team to work with. Is that Ferguson would actually want to play?

So what you’re saying regarding Lampard is they’ve regressed two years on the run, following his departure?

He can be as experienced as he wants Ferguson, that doesn’t mean he’s a good coach, not that we know anyway, he’s not worth a risk.

Look at the games back, the same players dug in deep, in ugly ways this season under Ancelotti, as we saw with some great away results. Ferguson had the crowd behind him for Chelsea and then it got progressively worse, I’m assuming you didn’t see the Arsenal game, under Ferguson? It was just as dull as what was served up.

As an assistant manager, he’s meant to work along side the manager to ensure the best results for the team, if Ferguson was so good at motivating, surely he’d be helping out his superior, to ensure the players were motivated.

I know what you’re clinging to, but we’d be struggling like mad with Ferguson, he’s not what we need to drag ourselves out this mess.

Your points are based on Ferguson did terribly which just isnt true. He had a run of 4 games against very tough opposition in about 13 days with zero preparation time. He got 5 points out of 9 and was very unlucky especially in the arsenal match (we should of had two penalties for handball) that we didn't take more points in those games.

What were you expecting from this man? 9 out of 9 points and to go through to the next round of the cup smashing every team 9-0. We were in the relegation zone when he took over and had only won 2 games since September and me thinking 5 points out of 3 games against Chelsea, United and arsenal isnt me basing it on what actually happened?

I was at the arsenal game actually and you know what so was the mythical crowd you keep on heaping all the praise on for the Chelsea win was there was well. So tell me why weren't the crowd at fault for our terrible performance that day? Why is it the crowd when we played well but its dunks fault when we played crap? Dunk was the joint assistant at everton but he still has to respect the limits of his position he cant start throwing his weight around or hell get sacked. What do you want him to do? Turn to ancelotti and tell him that their doing things his way now.

If you want to be technical about it derby have been on the decline since Gary rowett. Also derby backed Lampard fairly well compared to what they backed subsequent managers. You seem to rate Lampard? I think he did well at Chelsea but not so much at derby.

Fergusons requirements for players will be alot more to brands level then ancelotti who just wanted to buy old has beens that we have to replace in 2 years. Ferguson will know this is a massive chance for him should he get the job and I doubt he'd jeopardise that by being awkward with the dof, that's obvious.

I'm not clinging to anything mate. You obviously have a issue with Ferguson with your refusal to give him any credit whatsoever. If you think we need a more experience manager thats fine but we've tried more experienced mangers, we've tried flavour or the month managers and we've even tried world class managers and none of them have worked. Maybe we give it to a manager that actually cares about the club and wants whats best for it and if Chelsea can do it with a transfer ban why cant we?
