Orrrr… they’re going about the work of discussions and interviews, and the MEDIA is scrambling because they’re doing a good job of keeping it quiet.

It seems to me we are doing a good job of keeping it quiet, which gives me hope it's Brands leading the process for perhaps the 1st time. It's curious that there is little movement in the odds at all for the last couple of days, which sort of shows nothing is getting out. I remember with previous appointments you would see someone dart in to less than evens. This time, that has only occurred once with Nuno who it was out that he had been interviewed.

I know some feel the long it goes on the more likely it is to be him. I'm of a different view, I think the longer it takes the less likely, as surely if he is the man they want they just appoint him?

Looking at most of the names in the favourite position from the bookies, I'm quite happy if it's a bit more left field.

Just thinking about specifically Eddie Howe, I think there's parallels between him and a certain Preston manager a year or two back. If anything I think he would give Everton longevity like Moyes and I don't think it would be the worst appointment. I think we need to go back to basics as a club and build.
yes perhaps the 2002 version of Everton would be really successful 19 years later... perhaps Howe could lead the team for 11 years and win nothing. NSNO

Absolutely correct.

In fairness though, from what you guys were saying on your pod (which was really good btw) it looks like this is the 1st time Brands has really stepped up to manage the process. Whether that's because he's been emboldened by the 3 year contract, or that Ancelotti leaving abruptly has given him amnunition I am not sure, but it seems to be establishing a principle. If Brands selects this manager I'd imagine that is how it will continue moving forward and he will keep a list. Indeed he may even have a list and be working through it.

I don’t get the fascination with next manager odds.

The odds in those markets are a reflection of what’s been in the media, nothing more, nothing less. They mean NOTHING.
