One positive is that he wouldn't be buying the players this time and if the rumours in the papers and online are true then he agrees to work under the DoF model. Brands will hopefully sort out his backroom staff too with additions like Dunc and a good defensive coach. If it's between him and Potter they're both as risky as eachother tbh. Although you never go back to an ex after a long time do ya?

It’s possible we spoke to him and then said we had other candidates to speak to before a decision was made. He obviously had a firm offer on the table from palace. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

The reports I've read don't suggest that. Looks like we sounded him out but are reluctant to rush into anything and he's just decided to go with Palace as he's their No1 choice.

Exactly my point, no one in their right mind would pick palace over us so we either weren't interested or he wanted too much change i.e. massive entourage
