I still don't understand the issue some have with getting Potter. Quoting 15th and 16th place finishes with Brighton as justification. We got Moyes from Plymouth and though not world beaters it wasn't a bad time at all. We have a few coins jingling in the pocket now too. Either him or throw a middle finger at ffp and get Conte. I'd put on a seatbelt and strap in for that ride too!
Moyes was from Preston.

Unfortunately we have already thrown a middle finger at FFP. I think we have losses of about £250m over two years and we are allowed £105m? over three years, so we are in a tight spot.

We are bound to be fined or get points deducted because it’s us.

Question to you both and anyone else backing Ferguson - why isn't he a manager...why hasn't he made himself a manager elsewhere, and why has there been no stampede to use him as a manager by other clubs?
I’m not backing Ferguson for the job. Not even close to that.

There’s a world of difference between wanting him to be our manager and drawing sweeping conclusions that he’s entirely useless based on supposition and guesswork…

Or making the ridiculous assertion that he failed or was “embarrassing” in his short spell as caretaker, having gone undefeated (shootout aside) against a clutch of top 6 sides, off the back of us getting pumped by Liverpool and sitting in the relegation zone. His league ppg averaged over a season would have seen us on 63pts. Again, you can’t suppose he would have continued that form, but you CERTAINLY can’t call it a failure.

yeah for sure, we could hypothetically get 1 season out of him.

for me the attraction is twofold, players he can bring. and a one shot chance to crack top 4. whether he leaves or not, in one season my guess is, we would have better players and a maybe a bigger brand to attract players

the downfall is, no continuity in our management.
Yea not sold on him
Galtier for me. Longer term but would see progress

Why did he buy him?
He bought him because he was 22 and scored 25 goals in the championship. It's the same reason Villa bought Ollie Watkins from the same club. One worked, one didn't. But if we're talking decision making process it is the same thinking.
