It's got to do with the fact people dismiss XG outright as if it doesn't mean anything. It obviously doesn't mean as much as goals but it does help highlight an issue and where it is. In this case, missed chances.

But you could just watch the match to see that your strikers are missing chances?

I still don't understand the issue some have with getting Potter. Quoting 15th and 16th place finishes with Brighton as justification. We got Moyes from Plymouth and though not world beaters it wasn't a bad time at all. We have a few coins jingling in the pocket now too. Either him or throw a middle finger at ffp and get Conte. I'd put on a seatbelt and strap in for that ride too!
Wasn't Moyes at prizzelidinky?

It's for a different thread probably but the thinking that leads you to signing Maupay is a better way of doing transfers than anything we've done since Moyes

Over the course of 6months, comparing a 1st and second choice striker, comparisons between training and match day and the fact that even managers are capable of(and probably would prefer) not remembering every single miss. Don't need to when they can make comparisons. You may not like it, but they do it, and it makes sense to utilise it.
