But, potter didn't sign Watkins or Maddison, just as Koeman signed a raft of players that cost a fortune .
Just like David Moyes was excellent at picking up great players at bargain prices.

I simply don't get the argument for Graham Potter as Everton manager.
This veered away from Potter, he's comfortable with the recruitment having a younger focus but I reckon he's not the only one at Brighton pushing that and making deals. It probably should have been moved to the transfer thread.

He's outgrown the club.

We finished 10th in the PL while he's coaching the no.1 team in international football.

He won't be coming here in a hurry.
He won't Dave because he won't be asked.

I hope his next employers are able to afford the Belgium national team because with RM that is probably what he will need to be a success.

Given the talent availavle to him since he took over his record has not been wonderful.
He will be judged on this championship as success or failure.... imo.

Of course it was a failure. It was an audition for a job and he didn't pass it. The first game against Chelsea apart we looked clueless - it was huff and puff and by the Arsenal game he was completely out of ideas.

As I said, I'd love someone to tell me how this feller is supposed to be good enough to be a PL manager and there's no proof of it...and then tell me why no one has asked him to manage their team.

There's a fairly easy answer to that IMO: he's not up to it. But that doesn't stop a lot of Everton supporters each time we look for a new manager to come forward with his name. It's incredible.
Obsessed

To be honest Dave.

Your blindness in your judgement regarding certain people renders your opinion diminished in my opinion.

Duncan Ferguson, Leighton Baines are two notable examples, obviously Roberto Martinez as well for different reasons.

Your lack of objectivity in matters like there colours my opinion of your opinions in all other areas as well.

But, everybody is entitled to their own thoughts.
Ferguson and Baines are no marks. Utter piss takers who have a status they don't deserve. Any Evertonian taken in by them and call them legends - or can't see that they now in their post paying careers are taking advantage of EFC - are beyond my understanding.

What did he say?

"I hate a dem reds. I like a da sweet things like a toffees."

Maybe whilst talking on a mobile phone, riding a moped and perhaps pinching a girls bottom?

(I apologise to all Italians everywhere.)
Basically that he has no problem taking on a 'Project'

Don't quote me but this was overheard when M. Galtier was talking about us..

"J'ai entendu dire que certains des joueurs d'Everton bougeaient comme des escargots et des crabes. Les escargots et les crabes sont OK dans l'assiette mais pas sur le terrain de football. Je pense que je devrais lancer quelques-uns d'entre eux assez rapidement, puis les remplacer par de vrais footballeurs qui se rendent compte qu'Everton est une équipe dont les supporters ne toléreront pas un comportement aussi choquant."

I hope the next manager who comes in has his impact AND has the ability to be ruthless. Maybe Galtier can do that.
