Spent 5 mins looking at galtiers finishes in the french league since 2010. St etienne was pretty solid. Looked at wins and losses for each season. Bit up and down. Some seasons they lost quite a few. Few decent ones in there though. Then goals for each season. That was very erratic. Some really low scoring seasons. Some average for that league. Defence seems solid on most seasons. Odd poor one but mainly tight at the back.
Lille. Doesnt need any comment. Absolute solid at the back. Clearly built that solid foundation to go from

Still none the wiser to be honest. Could be great. Could be claude puel.
The leaving lille my time here is done quote is interesting. Do wonder why he never fancied a crack at defending the title.

Hmm. From the top of my head: Italian champion with Rome, put City out of the champions league last season. Only beaten by Bayern. In the euro league final with Marseille a few seasons ago. Champions with Lille even before the Rome title. Not to bad for a no-mark.
