Nothing against this Nuno fella,it just seems a bit of a bland safety first appointment,he has premier league experience,so has every manager since Moyes,he gets players to work, good luck trying to get that out of this squad,I just get the feeling it's going to be pretty much the same as the last few years the 1st season will be transitional, the second a top half uninspiring finish then calls for progress as we stay in the same position

If true...

(Far) better option than:
Howe
Moyes
FSW

More successful PL experience than:
Galtier
Ferguson
Potter

Would I be inspired? Not particularly. But, as @brieverton said above, I suspect this is a 'stability' hire from Moshiri with the idea of taking us through to the new stadium. And I am not averse to a manager who does not take any crap from players and apparently knows how to set up a defence properly with attacking full-backs (playing to our current strengths if we sign a decent RB) with arguably better attacking options than he had at Wolves.

Have a read of this brilliant article about the guy. Apologies that it’s the Mail but it’s well worth a read.

Excellent read.

He’s a working-class guy who holds socialist principles and he’s not a mercenary.

The right fit for our club.

"If you embrace a project that will require time and patience, then you need something to work on. So the first step of the project is to create an identity. If you don't have an identity, then today you want this player and tomorrow another one. If you have an idea and a shape, then this is how you develop an identity."
Nuno Espirito Santo

If he brings traore, Neto and neves with him.
I’ll be happy.

Traore?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

Good God man :o

He guided Portuguese minnows Rio Aves to the Europa League and Valencia to the Champions League, as well as winning the Championship with Wolves and finishing 7th in consecutive Premier League seasons. He also took Wolves to a European quarter-final. Give the poor guy a chance. I really hope he'll never see some of these comments!

As blues we have a duty to get behind our new manager.

We dont have a "duty to get behind our manager".

That has to be earned.

Yes, his grandfather is a black African guy.

So Nuno is our first Black/mixed-race manager. A proud day for our club.

Its a "proud day for our club" to hire a negative average manager...

Because hes black?!

We should be hiring the best managers no matter what colour they are...they could be blue for all it matters.

Why bring race into it?

Excellent read.

"Hes not a mercenary"

lol theyre all mercenaries.

Basically "I'll give Gomes, Delph, Gylfi, Iwobi and Bernard another chance as their identity is that of an abysmal Everton side"

So happy for you ,this must be the one you were hoping for ,so you could have a good moan.

I haven’t got a problem with Nuno. I think he done a great job at Wolves, and I’m willing to back him here. But the club are a joke. All week we have heard how their has been 40 names to go through. How we are taking our time, how Brands wants to get this right... blah... blah... blah. This screams Moshiri yet again. It was the safe and easy option and lacks any real sort of vision or ambition. Why this man has any influence or say on what comes through the door is a joke. We may aswel just send Brands home.

But all you have heard is rumours. Nothing has been leaked from the club for years now so why are you believing everything you read.

Wasn’t that long ago he was pulling up trees with Wolves and being touted as a target for Man Utd. Didn’t Wolves beat Man City home and away prior to last season?

1 bad season at Wolves does not all of a sudden make him garbage. Especially when it could be said that losing his star players was the main reason and Traore was off form.

That said though, I am still underwhelmed as I really had set my hopes on Galtier, his credentials made him a perfect fit.

I actually quite like Nuno from his spell at wolves he's definitely not a terrible manager, think some of us are just dissapointed because they seemed to take their time, hint they would go abroad but instead took what seems the safe option.

I think a good half of the fan base aren't "happy" with this appointment, but tell you what if he comes in has a quick look ( or even using his knowledge of being in the league ) and says to Delph, siggy, iwobi etc just f off out the club he'll get my backing straight away.
