Although we were profligate it was the stadium that tipped the scales over and required the outside funding once Usmanov was out of the equation.

It is what is now, it's much better to have a large debt with something to show for it than to have wasted it all. Which is what Ashley did and then promptly removed funds which got the club back in order (but suffered relegation in that time). If Moshiri hadn't decided to take the hit on the debt and was holding out for the largest return whilst we continued to scrap around for pennies, or had sold us to 777 then I could understand the anger. He is going and leaving us with a minimal debt (with thanks to the Friedkins - but so they should seeing they were getting the club and new stadium for peanuts), those gives us a solid foundation going forward which is where we hoped to be. For that he gets a hall pass from me.

But that's still not correct. The majority of the losses were operational, not related to the stadium or financing. Wild fees and salaries for mediocre players and managers, far above our revenues.

It's an asset that hasn't yet been depreciated, so no?

Some of the interest was treated differently the last two times we submitted, but that pales in comparison to the profligate spending on players, managers, DoFs etc.

I get what you say between assets and player trading and other costs. But it doesn't. We were merrily bouncing along spending what we spent, being offset by players like Lukaku, Stones and alike and then loans converted into equity by Moshiri for where we wasted. We started off at almost zero debt then had to pay for the stadium, then had to go to others to fund the stadium, then had to pay huge sums to keep those debts serviced.
