Moshiri will have lost this club more money than any of them lost their clubs. (Not saying they aren’t worse mind). I think he has been very close to seeing us go bust and has been fortunate we haven’t.

A bit less fortune (ie pope conceding a penalty) and we get relegated, not sure we would have survived that.

He has been a very lucky man that he is even getting any money for us at this point.

Also, as bad as Ashley was, he set Newcastle up to be able to spend significantly when new owners came in.

None of those were building a stadium.

Yes it true, I was at the presser

1st Question: So What’s it like to own Everton Football club?

TFG: Who?

They weren’t, that’s correct. But I didn’t necessarily just mean all on the stadium.

The fact we were taking monthly £20m loans to keep the lights on while moshiri banged on about how funding was secured for the stadium and leaving us with over £660m worth of debt. While also overseeing breaching of PSR each year (which is separate from stadium costs) indicates to me that he has not had a handle on any of it.

The only one of those that’s down to bad luck is Gbamin, and maybe Bolasie due to the injury situations. (And being unable to sell one player being out of our a control)

The rest is just down to bad oversight, bad recruitment and an inept board (Moshiri) getting too involved.

yeh like anyone could really see that Sigurdsson would turn out to be a pervert.

Where did I suggest that? I literally put in brackets about one player we were unable to sell out of our control.

I wrote the only one meaning Gbamin. And then went back and added the brackets about a separate player.

Although we were profligate it was the stadium that tipped the scales over and required the outside funding once Usmanov was out of the equation.

It is what is now, it's much better to have a large debt with something to show for it than to have wasted it all. Which is what Ashley did and then promptly removed funds which got the club back in order (but suffered relegation in that time). If Moshiri hadn't decided to take the hit on the debt and was holding out for the largest return whilst we continued to scrap around for pennies, or had sold us to 777 then I could understand the anger. He is going and leaving us with a minimal debt (with thanks to the Friedkins - but so they should seeing they were getting the club and new stadium for peanuts), those gives us a solid foundation going forward which is where we hoped to be. For that he gets a hall pass from me.

He was selling us down the river to those 777 yokels. We were a Richard Masters approval away from having those crooks as our owners.

I also think there has been a ridiculous amount of bad luck. Recruitment has been disgustingly bad but if we had got even some kind of return on a few of our players that blew up we would have been in a much better place.

Sigurdsson- £45m- £0m back
Bolasie- £28m - £0m back
Gbamin- £25m - £0m back
Tosun- £26m - £0m back
Gomes- £22m - £0m back
Mina- £24m - £0m back
Walcott- £22m - £0m back
Allan- £22m - £0m back

Tragic isn't it and Liverpool got most of that figure back selling Coutinho who then went on to be utter dogsh1t for the rest of his career

Yep and history would have been very unkind to him had that happened. Unless something occurred like at the end of the H&G era at the RS - where we get bought for a song without administration.

He had bad luck whilst he was here so maybe he (& we) got a slice of good fortune at that time to make up for it.

Moshiri was an incompetent disaster, but a club that was as inert, stagnant, and obsolete as Everton under Bill Kenwright was needed a near-extinction event to blast it out of the sentimental personal fiefdom that it had become. Or a mad visionary.

Moshiri was ignorant - and incompetent - enough to insist on building a stadium with his, Usmanov's, anybody's money. And it looks like, against the odds, he has managed it. In spite of himself.

He nearly took us down as a result, but, well, winners write history. If we stay up this season, Moshiri's mad vision - incompetently delivered - will come to fruition in spite of the car-crash of his management. Thanks Mosh.

Merry Friedkins Everyone

Hope is fallin′
All around me
Doucoure's playin'
So is Young
It′s the season
Fightin' relegation
Merry Friedkins everyone

Time for Dycheball, no substitutions
DCL fluffs that one-on-one
Time for presents
To the opposition
Time for sellin' everyone

We're gettin' no clean sheet tonight
We're gonna find Pickford underneath that hanging cross
Glued to his goalline

Nerves are frayin', Coleman's sayin'
All the old guff we love to hear
And I just wish Branthwaite was stayin'
What a nice thought to end the year
Outstanding.
