Everton will finally usher in a new era on Thursday when The Friedkin Group officially become the club’s latest owners.

Having agreed a deal with Farhad Moshiri to buy his 94.1 per cent shareholding back in September, The Friedkin Group have been conducting due diligence in the months since and a formal announcement is expected at some point on Thursday.

Final checks on paperwork were being conducted on Wednesday night but no problems were envisaged and this represents a huge moment in Everton’s history after so much trouble and turmoil during the frivolous Moshiri era, in which financial largesse put them in trouble with the authorities and led to a points deduction last season.

Manager Sean Dyche, who correspondence with Moshiri in recent months has been limited to the odd call and WhatsApp messages, has not had any official discussion with Dan Friedkin, the American billionaire, but he and Director of Football Kevin Thelwell will have plenty to discuss about how to take Everton forward.

It is unclear whether Friedkin or any other members of the TFG consortium will be at Goodison Park on Sunday, for a hugely-important game against title-chasing Chelsea.

Everton will move into a new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock next season, the one legacy Moshiri will leave that is positive.

Taking a wait and see approach personally, especially with who they chose to retain throughout the club. There have been too many let downs in the past for me to get excited.

Wishing them the very best
Their initial decisions will speak volumes about their ambitions for the club. I don't expect them to come in and sack everybody, but I do expect huge changes behind the scenes in the boardroom and no public long-term support for the manager. I assume he'll be given until January to pull us away from danger (which he'll fail to do).

They should give him a target of 9 points from next 3 games 😉

I’m just glad it’s coming to a head and the takeover will be announced today. There’s just too much speculation and it’s time to see the proof in the pudding. I’m glad it’s today as I’m off work for two days so I can get on the ale and celebrate properly. Thanks for the perfect timing, Dan!!! Really appreciate it!!!

No matter what, this is a monumental day for Everton Football Club and Evertonians everywhere. Moshiri is finally gone and hopefully the last remnant of Bill’s gang is out the door as well. The club needs people running the day to day that actually want to improve the club and not hire ppl who are interested in doing nothing but empire building.

When you got a massive and passionate fan base that we have with a stadium on the way that will generate good amounts of revenue, the goal should be to push forward and strive for the best.

I just look at clubs like Brighton, Villa, Forest and Fulham with what they’ve done recently and think that can absolutely be us. We just need to be smart with regard to recruitment and bin that obsession we have with just buying players with PL experience because that’s just a ticket to nowhere.

I just say to Dan Friedkin is this:

-Leave no stone unturned when sorting out who going to be part of the operations because as far as I’m concerned no one at the club (off and on the pitch) has done a good enough job to stay on.

Listen to the fans already. I’m absolutely sick and tired of ppl always blaming Evertonians when things go wrong when the fans are the club’s biggest asset. Evertonians just want the club to push forward, be the best and have a team to be proud of (which is something we haven’t had in quite some time) That’s not unreasonable and should be the goal of every club big, medium or small. Enough of that “What more do they want” BS. No fan base should ever accept finishing 17th every year as the goal so hopefully TFG will think like us and bin the mediocre corner shop mentality that has permeated Everton for far too long.

More importantly: I just want to get back to where were all enjoying the football again. I haven’t enjoying watching this team since Carlo was here. I want it where I’m looking forward to Saturday instead of dreading it.

I don’t envy TFG. They got a massive job ahead of them and they need to hit the ground running on day 1. I wish them nothing but the best of luck. I have zero doubt the fans will give them a warm welcome this weekend and get behind the team with vigor.

Up the Friedkin Toffees!!!
