I have to give credit to Moshiri for getting that stadium done.

If they do anything half as significant here I'll be amazed.

The low bar people are talking about doesn't exist, because even two egotists like Kenwright and Moshiri achieved something in terms of stability (Kenwright) and a new facility (Moshiri).

Both were getting rid of because they couldn't get us to where we belong on the pitch as winners. This lot will be judged by the same yardstick.

How long is your patience though? For me, it's going to take a period of stability and sound financial proofing.

As for what can Friedkins do, they can't build a stadium, so the only measure is trying to break the establishment.

The unfortunately state of elite football and the unfair rules makes it harder, does it not?

Moshiri, Thewell & Dyche OUT

Friedkins, Dan Ashworth & Gareth Southgate IN

Some of this post I agree with, some not so much.

Reminds me of the latest edition of The Esk's podcast with @AndyC and George. I had a bath to their dulcet tones last night and found myself in large agreement with Andy, who was the voice of pragmatic reason in what was, at times, a bizarre conversation. Esk was getting sniffy at a point at Arsenal - and posted advance notice of his disappointment at a potential point with Chelsea - while George rightly dismissed the mad notion of David Moyes returning, only to ruin it all by calling for the second coming of Marcel Brands, of all people. I nearly drowned in my bath.

I thought to myself, "how can somebody so right about one thing be so hilariously wrong about a related matter."

So, I like your first sentence. It sort of goes awry from there...

I'm happy to wait and see what plans they have. But the takeover is much needed, long overdue and very welcome.

Hopefully this is the start of a new and improved Everton and the end of a very frustrating period as a supporter of this club.

Nothing will change quickly but gradual and sustainable progress is what we need. Hopefully the new owners can deliver that.

I have been looking forward to this day for a long time now. For the first time in 3 decades we will have new owners with a lot of money and experience and without any interference from Kenwright. Whatever they do will be their own doing with no decades of failure influence. Sure i am cautious, it would be crazy not to be but i am definitely still buzzing to be going into a new era that is at the minimum going to be different than the last 30 years.

Anything can happen after today and i love that. Got sick to death of the same thing over and over again and always going backwards.
It's the hope that kills you they say...
