I think patience will be required

PSR is going to make it difficult for them to do anything immediately I think

What’s within their control is getting the next managerial appointment correct and also making necessary changes to the youth set up so that it can start baring fruit in the next 3-5 years

In the short term I think we’ll still have little to spend, which is probably why Thelwell is sticking around because he’s got experience working on a budget

It’ll probably be a grind for a couple of years yet, but so long as the right decisions are being made we might have room for some optimism finally

I’d even be encouraged with being able to keep our better players (or not be forced to sell them by a certain date in the calendar) and having a modest transfer pot to actually pay something for players each window. Even with just that some decent scouting can get the club moving forward.

It’s the having to sell a prime asset every summer and then only having loans or transfers with no fees upfront which absolutely kills the squad and the fanbase.

Real actual experienced and qualified people are emerging. Maybe some of these may be medium term until more local teams can be set up. People won’t like it, but PSR will restrict a victorious splurge in January, but having people with half a brain at the helm is a start.

Uruguayan with a German surname? I wouldn't dig too far back in that family tree.

I'm pleased to get it all sorted and glad to see the back of Moshiri. It's just wait and see for me on how they actually do, no point in getting all giddy and telling everyone we're back (again) until we see what they're really made of. I have everything crossed.

i don’t think anybody is saying we’re back

people are happy to have a chance to ONE DAY compete

and have got rid it the old

Friedkin 6 point strategic plan:
  • Strengthening the men’s first-team squad through thoughtful and strategic investment.
  • Cultivating home-grown superstars through Everton’s Academy.
  • Fostering a distinct on-pitch and commercial strategy for the women’s team.
  • Respecting the club’s traditions and keeping Everton at the heart of the community.
  • Maximising the potential of the new stadium through long-term commercial partnerships and events that benefit the city of Liverpool.
  • Enhancing Everton’s reputation as a unique and historical name in world football

I mean more the sort of 'now we're going to be run properly' 'these guys know what they're doing' 'there'll be no more of x, y or z with these fellas' etc which there is a lot of. People said it about Moshiri and it didn't happen. I am optimistic, but I'm just saying I will wait and see what they actually do before I praise them.

Absolutely, I want systemic long term management of the club and not just wild money thrown at the first team to a flavour of the month gaffer. From what Thelwell says and some of the appointments he has made that does seem to be his preferred approach in fairness.

Live from heaven. Lest we forget the man that made this all possible.

I hate the financial side of football, but in today's game it's a necessity, the best way of keeping you're best players is by being better Commercially. That's were the new ground should be a game changer, plus one thing I'm sure the Friedkins will bring is better Commercial deals, actually bringing us into the 21st Century.
