If they appoint David Moyes i will be putting my supporting of Everton on hold until he has gone and I will hate the Friedkins forever.

It would be the worst thing for me to bare seeing him brought back to Everton, I would never forgive TFG for it, also so much of the fanbase hate Moyes and there would be Benitez type hostility.

it’s just not what we need in a time of new owners a new stadium and a new dawn for everybody to get behind, If the Friedkins appoint Moyes it would be the worst thing that any new owners have done.
Don’t be ridiculous

It's not easy, but there's fairly obviously an enormous gulf in quality to the PL - hence teams that win the championship with 100 points quite often going straight back down and vice versa. The side we have now should be able to stroll to promotion from the Championship, but i'd rather not find out.
The problem is that we have more than 10 players out of contract. If we went down it would be an entirely different squad

I can't think of any appointment that was supported by all or even the vast majority of the fan base.

Some even didn't agree with the Ancelotti appointment and wanted him to go
I don't think many actively wanted Ancelotti gone but I don't mind admitting I didn't think he was a good fit here and am not sure we would ever have got any better had he stayed. He's clearly a genuinely outstanding manager but I just don't think he ever really got his around how the level of player he had here just wasn't capable of doing what he wanted from them. Sometimes you need a certain type of manager to do the job that needs doing, and the fanciest names with the most trophies aren't always the ones best suited to getting you away from the relegation zone etc.

I don't disagree, I just think the 'it's incredibly hard to get out of the championship' line gets overplayed a bit. You obviously get the odd Leeds or Sunderland situation but more often than not teams that go down come back up pretty quickly.

Trying to convince myself that Moyes is a good option and struggling.

I then put myself in Friedkins shoes. They need to protect their asset half way through a disappointing season where they have just taken over. I imagine they have long term plans of who should come in but would probably need to curate the squad to their needs, something you cant do quickly- particularly in January.

Probably the 'safest' pair of hands is a Moyes type manager that knows the league, can eak out results and can improve players. We desperately ned some pace into this team and I imagine we will make some signings this .January that will help our position.

I just hope there is a succession plan because it still feels like a dour, downbeat appointment which is all we have had for a long long time.
I can just about stomach Moyes until the end of the season. Have zero appetite to have him as the man front and centre for the summer rebuild and onwards.

Hoping that TFG have a plan for a new appointment from June 1st.

He might have been a good fit when Mosh first arrived, we might have spent some of that money on decent players attracted by him as well as the lucrative contracts, rather than just the contracts
But I agree, bring him in when we did was some sort of Hail Mary by mosh gambling more money on the likes of James etc to get us into Europe.

Yep, 100%. Someone like Ancelotti when we got Koeman could have really made a difference, but you don't appoint someone like him and expect him to get the most out of a limited squad and budget.

Even bigger gulf from PL to league 1 and we hardly beasted Peterborough. I'd be worried if we went down.

One off games don't mean anything, we beat Liverpool fairly comfortably last season but there's still an absolutely enormous gulf between the two teams. Week in week out the level in the Championship is way below that of the PL, it's not even debatable there's absolutely loads of evidence that proves it.

What a load of absolute bollocks, I'm sorry

Have to say you will be sorely missed on this forum as well

Fair point. Just do not want to end up there to find out if we are up to it or not....
