I was someone who wanted rid of Moyes two years before he eventually went. It was clear to me then he wouldn't win us trophies and we needed an upgrade.
But that's not where we are now, now we are more or less in the same spot we were in the day he first joined us. That's not TFG or Moyes fault that rests solely on the shoulders of Blue Bill.
I can't believe I am going to say this but he almost guarantees you safety this year, 10-14th next season and top 10.maybe 8 the following season. It's only at that time we will find out about TFG and whether they will go with him again or then go get the manager required to turn us into a challenger.
For now, for where we are and where we need to go, it's the correct appointment IMHO.

Totally agree, we need stability especially given the unknown full picture with PSR.I regarding the appointment as the necessary initialsafe steps in order to rebuild our club. This will take some time given the minimum past 20 odd years of mismanagement.

Septics making a mess of two clubs in two countries .
Should just stick to sorting out the lower league French (?) club they own and only move up to the big clubs when they've mastered football.
Historically speaking we should have left the continent to the Spanish and French to colonise, we created a monster.

You are not most fans. You're not even a fan.
They're never going to please all the fans. The new owners shouldn't be trying to. They should be picking people who they think fits their strategy for the club.

They've got a manager who has lots of PL experience, who has taken on struggling clubs before and got a tune out of them, who can work with limited resources but who has a very extensive knowledge of players (given they don't seem to put much faith in Thelwell). Additionally the two interim managers were players he has a long relationship with. He knows the ground, the training ground.

It's the safest possible appointment and one that they've made very quickly.

I am not sure the progression with Moyes will be that strong, but I agree that the immediate goal needs to just be a couple more years of survival. We then hope the new ownership and increased stadium revenue allows them to jump back into the "always safe" group that is now enjoyed by six Premier League clubs.
