Umm…we have seen that on numerous occasions…..? In my mind he was a little bit hit and miss, we had players who were never near the first team, the two from China, Rodrigo, Kouldrop etc. My problem was when he had money he couldn’t find a striker, he wasted money at us and especially at WH trying to find one.

Yak wasn't bad, neither was Loui Saha on a limited budget.

Not strictly true, Yakuba was brilliant, not Moyes fault he absolutely destroyed his ankle, similarly Saha was a good pickup, AJ had one very good season but we actually made a profit on him, Beagrie was shockingly bad though.

The ex Everton players who would t mind seeing back at the club in various roles would be Weir, Carsley, Cahill.

Why those three? Because they all turned down the chance to join the ex blues gravy train under Kenwright and left to actually prove themselves in various roles and all three did so on their own merit.
Sadly the only ex- blues I’d have back are too old now.
The last 30 years we have witnessed only losers and they should have no place here except as guests on matchdays.

And if Moyes can spot a player as DoF with no PSR restrictions and plenty of cash, it starts to get very interesting.
Even in his best teams in his first term the one issue was always a striker (the yak pre injury was probably the best he had) Moyes can deffo spot a defender and midfielder but not so much a striker.
In Bobby brown shoes first season it was basically the team Moyes left but an addition of a very good striker in Lukaku.
But I agree I think moyes would make a very good DOF if he could be pursued to move upstairs and I don’t think he’d be a pushover and sign players just to please the current manager as has happened in the past

Relationship with Moyes. Looks a decent coach with Moyes buying the players as Director of Football
We're giving him the manager's job because Dyche effectively walked, and Moyes was free. Thereafter you're talking of making him DoF (a post which he's never done) and building the management structure around him, to include, a fella (Carsley) who has zero experience in the Premier League. All because Carsley apparently has a 'good relationship' with Moyes?

This time last week, I strongly suspect David Moyes wasn't in the new owner's plans at all. I'd prefer to see Friedkin's 'Plan A' before we go making long term plans based on good relationships and whoever happens to be free at the time.

Basically yes.

I'm seeing some concern over Weir. If he was useless, Bloom would have got rid of him. He's been involved very centrally, in arguably the best run club in football.
